Yes, I think the Berger VLD is probably longer than the a-max and needs a tighter twist. Maybe the Berger 105 BT would be similar to the a-max. I know that my 1:10 twist 243's would stabilize most 95 and 100 grain bullets but not the long, high-BC 95 gr SMKs.

Berger's website lists their recommended twist rates. The 6mm 95's are listed at a 9" twist so they might work for you; 105's will not work. I don't know if they will expand before exiting a groundhog.

Looks like an interesting forum you have here. I am a deer hunter and varmint shooter and I'm a little overly obsessed with long range accuracy. But Ill bet I'm in good company. I've been reloading for a couple of years - still have a lot to learn. I live on a blueberry farm in southwest Michigan.
