    7mm build

I have a fresh STW build and my close buddy has a fresh 28 Nosler build. Mine is just an old sako mauser 98 action that was a 300 wby my grandpa had built years ago. The reason I went with the stw is the nostalgia of the round in “grandpas old gun...”. Also the ease to rebarrel the 300 wby to...

    FN Mauser

I would also say it would work great for what you are wanting to do. I have an FN Mauser currently chambered in 300 WBY that I am going to turn in to something else as well. Not sure what I want to go with yet but something in the 6.5 or 7mm range is what I am thinking as well.........

    Rivers West or Sitka

I dont like Rivers West for hunting. They make a nice fishing jacket, a buddy of mine has one and likes it. But for hunting it is too warm (unless maybe you are stand hunting or something) and will not breathe at all......... Last year during elk season a few of the guys had Rivers West and I...

    600 yard hunting rifle????

I agree with the T3 being about the best for the money in a lightweight package. If you are gonna be covering a lot of ground on foot you will appreciate the lightweight rugged design. I have one in 300 WSM and blew people away this last weekend shooting bird poo stains on rocks at 700...

150 gr load for 270 wsm

Nosler says that the slowest speed for optimum performance is 1800 FPS on the Accubond. I dont see a 150 Accubond listed but I punched in the BC for the 150 Ballistic Tip as they are the same BC as Accubonds. If you can push a 150gr at 3200 then you will still be pretty close to 1800 at 1000...

    CDS Turrets??

I stand corrected. You do just get 14 MOA, not 15. I just counted the clicks.......56 from stop to stop with the custom turrets.

    CDS Turrets??

The CDS turrets have stops on them at your zero and at 1 revolution of the dial. Like somebody said above, you get 15 MOA in one revolution. Plug all of your info including your zero in a ballistic calculator and you will find out with a little simple math what kind of range you will get for...

    Ar-30 338 lapua

They are a pussycat. Heavy with an effective muzzle break. A lot less recoil than your average hunting caliber in a lightweight rifle. Loud though!!! Protect those ears.

    Which 7mm and why???

Here ya go. The stock is at my parents house right now cause my step dad has a wood shop and we are gonna refinish the stock there........ Has a weird muzzle break but it seems to work pretty good. The barrel on it now is a Douglas..... Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us

    Which 7mm and why???

I am kind of liking the idea of the 7/300 WBY now that I think more about it just to keep the nostalgia of the gun alive and since I do have a bunch of 300 brass already. It is an FN action and from doing a little more research I think the trigger is a Sako...... I read that they put Sako...

    Which 7mm and why???

Thanks for the replies! dig, I had at first thought about making it in to a 7mm/300WBY but decided that I didnt want to screw around with a wildcat like that. I have a bunch of 300 wby brass so I guess it wouldnt be that tough and it would kind of keep the gun a little more true to what it was...

    Which 7mm and why???

I have a 300 WBY that is built on a mauser action that I want to have rebarrelled to 7mm. I got it from my grandpa that passed and found that the bore is pitted pretty bad. What I do not know is which 7mm I want to go with. I am thinking either the STW or the Ultra Mag. This will mainly be...

    Can I make this happen?

Well they dont make a VX3 3-9x40, let alone one in the CDS. Your choices are the 3.5-10 with a 40 or 50 mm objective or the 4.5-14 with a 40 mm objective........ I would suggest the 4.5-14..... I just bought one and will use one of the free dials for the gun the new scope is going on and will...

    340 Weatherby??

Thanks for the feedback everyone. This is the kind of stuff I was looking for..... First hand experience. I am excited to get going with it and plan on having it dialed in for our Southwest Oregon Spring Bear season. Then of course elk season next year. Sounds like I will start with a 250...

    340 Weatherby??

So I aquired an almost new Mark V 340 WBY Mag a while back and just finally got a scope for it and will now start playing with some loads for it. I just wanted to see if anybody on here had any pointers on where to start?? I put a Leupold VX-3 4.5-14 CDS on it so I will have the elevation dial...
