    What’s your spookiest hunting experience?

I was in a wilderness area in California, deer hunting with a buddy. We were walking a trail next to a lake. The lake level was low with a lot of mud flats around the lake. The trail was in the edge of the trees next to the mud flats. I heard movement in the manzanita brush next to the trail...

    Reviews please! Howa 1500.

I have bought 3 Weatherby vangaurds. For my son and two nephews all in 7mm rem mag. All shoot around 3/4 moa. Unaltered factory rifles. They cost $500 to $550 each. Not bad for rifles that shoot that well. Not sure it made sense to spend all that money on a custom howa 1500.

I bought a new stainless howa 1500, 3006 to build a custom. Got rid of the barrel, stock, and trigger. Then put a pacnor barrel chambered for 7mm rem mag. Had the bolt face opened for the 7mm. Had the receiver blue printed. Put in a timney trigger and bell and carlson stock. Glass bedded the...

How far out will you kill an elk by yourself?

A few years ago I was hunting cow elk with my son and nephew. We each had a tag. About 2 miles from the truck we killed 3 cows in one herd. It was almost dark. By the time we had them gutted it was well after dark in Grizzly country. Hiked out started back in the next morning. Humped meat all...

    Stock with adjustable cheek riser

Thanks for all the replies. This site has been been a great resource for years. I have pretty much decided to go with the loggerhead ACP hardware. I talked to the guy that installs them on the phone today. He installs the adjustable cheek on multiple rifle stocks at a reasonable price. And his...

    Stock with adjustable cheek riser

With the size of objective lens on scopes now days. I am surprised more rifle stock manufacturers don't have factory installed cheek risers.

    Stock with adjustable cheek riser

The Bradley and the kydex that fits over the stock pushes my face away from the stock. Then you have to lean your face over the top of the stock to see through the scope. At least half of all the animals I have shot over the years have been off hand. And it works better if when you mount the...

    Stock with adjustable cheek riser

Looks like he only does wood stocks. The KMW loggerhead would work fine if it could be installed in a composite stock. Thanks

    Stock with adjustable cheek riser

I have a howa 1500 stainless 7mm mag. It's custom the only thing factory is the receiver and bolt. And the receiver has been blue printed. What I have been looking for is a hunting stock with an adj cheek rest. Really don't want a stock that looks like it's better suited for bench rest. Haven't...

5-25x50 Burris Veracity SCR-MOA- does any one want a review?

I have a 4 x 20 x50 on a 7mm mag and a 5 x 25 x50 on a 338 Rum. They seem to be great scopes. Never had any expensive scopes to compare them against, so I would be like to know how they compare. That will give us an idea how good they are for the money. Also these are the FFP scopes I have owned...

Which rangefinding binoculars do you prefer and why?

I am curious about the Steiner Nighthunter LRF 8x30. I love there binoculars for the price. These are suppose to range to 1800 yards and cost about $1700 no ballistics program but I would rather use my phone. Anyone ever have one of these in there hands?
