Sierra 140 Gr. game kings out of a 6.5X47 Lapua?

I currently shoot 130 Berger Hunting VLD's out of my 6.5X47 Lapua. They are wonderfully accurate and work great at extended ranges. I live in Pa. and hunt heavy cover and short ranges, generally 100yds or less. My question is does anybody have any experience shooting these pills under these...

    Recognize this trigger???

Canjar single set trigger, I would keep the wide shoe(main trigger) set at 3 pounds for hunting and the little shoe for approx. 6 Oz's for range work. They were very well made triggers and worked as advertised, back in the day.

    Scope Tester Video

Does anyone know if there is a video available that show the proper use of a Field & Cave or equivalent scope reticle tester. Not quite sure how to use it and the instructions answer some questions but create several more. If someone uses one of these and could give me a little guidance I...

    Caliber for Pronghorn....

My friend on left used a 6.5X284 while I used a 6.5X 47 Lapua. I'm a big fan of the 6.5X47 but you have a 6.5X284, so there you go. Pure poison on speed goats. :)

    hunter benchrest target stamps?

I just purchase either 100, 200 or 300 yd. IBS =, hunter class targets from The National Target company. Quality paper, targets all exactly the same. Been down the stamp road, trust me it's not worth the investment or the effort.

    chronograph question

I have an old Oehler 33 that I used for years. On bright sunny days, I installed the glint shields that came with it and it worked flawlessly. On overcast day's left the shields off and again, it worked flawlessly. I can tell you however, if there are any electrical storms in the area, just...

    Reloading Manuals?

Having a few manuals is a good place to start but having a mentor could shorten your learning curve by several years and there's nothing like seeing it done live to help you grasp it quicker. Don't know how far you are from sun prairie Wisconsin but if you're reasonably close I can put you in...

    LabRadar question

My feeling is, that's a whole bunch of money to get the same thing the Magneto speed is already giving you. I have heard all of the stories about having something strapped on your barrel will ruin you're groups, I personally find this not to be true. POI can shift a little bit depending on the...

    Help on caliber

The one you have at #1 really does fill the bill whether it's in a WSM or the old standby 300 WM. I have had both and performance wise they are virtually the same. Choice will be determined by your preference of action length. #30 Cals are a Handloaders dream and factory ammo is abundant for...

    7mm rem mag 7828

Tyeager, just wanted to remind you that the data you generously received from one of the members from the QL program if done at the programs default temperature (70") should really be adjusted for the temps that you were chronographing at. All powders will vary according to temperature large...

    Best Scent Killers?

There are so many to choose from, are they all similar or are there a few that really work better than others. Just want to purchase something that I know works. I don't want this to be a chevy vs ford thing. Would just like to hear what avid hunters are using and why?
