Caliber combination for prairie dog hunting?

This year will be a 20 Practical in a manual AR shooting 39BK@3850, 22-250ai shooting 53v-max@4000 & 22 Creed shooting the 62VT @3800. The 20P is a new project. The 62VT is replacing 75 ELDs @3500 that weren't as dramatic on target as the 53's. Hopefully the 62's are. Leaving the 17HMR at home...

    Looking at Smokeless options

I hunted SW Mn(Currie)for over 30 years. Haven't been down there for 4-5 years now. Wish I had had my smokeless back then.

    Looking at Smokeless options

I recommend shooting it as a 45-70 before converting it. I didn't, and I wish I had. It shoots OK, but nothing impressive.

Anyone have a CLOUDRAY FIBER LASER ENGRAVE?

I have a 30w mopa fiber laser that I bought specifically for marking barrels. I bought it with the rotary axis, but haven't set it up yet. I believe it will work better/faster/more consistent once set up, as opposed to the rather basic setup I have now, but it still turns out good. I bought...

    Jump Measurement Shorter?

The amount of force you use when pushing the bullet in with the comparitor will effect your measurements. The longer the freebore, the more this is true. Unless you have a freebore that is ~.0005" larger than what is common(usually about .0001-.0002" bigger than typical bullet diameter), you are...

    22 Creedmoor prairie Dog loads

Well, so far(about 450-500 rounds in), throat erosion is only a few thousands and the fire cracking is not bad. We see after this years prairie dog trip, plus I'm shooting it for sling practice a little, currently(but have backed the load off for that).

    22 Creedmoor prairie Dog loads

I built my 22 Creed last year and shot 75 ELDs @ 3400ish with RL22. I thought it was going to be king, but I found I prefer the 53 Vmax @4000 out of my 22-250ai, for the most part. If I was shooting 600+, the the 75's were superior, but under that, I like the 53's best. I will be loading mainly...

    22 creedmoor or 22 250ai

The 22 Creed and 22-250ai are so close, that performance difference is negligible. The big thing is the availability of small primer brass for the Creed, and no fire forming. Even if your gunsmiths reamer is a bit long in freebore, the light varmit bullets tend to like big jumps anyways. Or...
