Hi Lars please to meet you! I have phone Willem. He said you are welcome and he has nice trophee Sable bulls currently. He does not have Buffalo but will refer you to friends in the same area. He does have ph`s working for him so documentation for what ever trophee would not be a problem. Best...
Monte, what is a PALMA chamber and load? How does this differ from a normal 308Win? I am somewhat confused with this. What is a PALMA shoot? Is it a 308 open sight Match Target rifle (old Bisley type of shooting) Full bore?
Would like to know what is your and guys like Stan Pates groups at 100...
Hi LR3,
My apologies. It was New Years a few hours ago and we had kind of a late night. A very good friend of mine have 10 000 hectares in the All Days area of the Limpopo province of SA. This is a very very beautiful farm/range. You may hunt through-out the year and it has all the luxiouries...
Hi there,
Don`t know if this is the proper Forum for this. If not my apologies. Allen and Peggy used to manage a rifle shooting range in Cherry Creek Park in Denver Colorado. He did a PH Course here in South Africa and hunted in Tanzania. We lost contact after I moved and and I am urgently...
I was introduced to F Class Open a while ago. Most guys use a 7mm/284win with 180gr Berger`s VLD to 1000yrds at 2870 fps. After reading about Kirby Allens 7mm Allen Magnum with 200gr ULD RBBT bullets with a .900 bc, I`m ready to try them out. Does any one have any experience regarding this...
Thank you for the comments. I used the rifle as a dangerous game rifle for many years and have more or less shot all I would ever be able to afford.
I thought with more velocity gained, I would be able to shoot distances up to 500 yrds accurately....with a 375 this is kinda difficult...
I have a 375 Wby with a 22" barrel. Velocity with a 300gr bullet is about 2727fps. Would there be any merit for a 32" barrel in terms of velocity?
Thanks.gun)
I have used a 375 Brno CZ extensively in South Africa for many years with great success. However, after reading articles by Fiftydriver on LRH.COM and being a bit of a gun nut, started wondering about new cal such as 300RUM, 338EDGE, 375CHEYTAC or the ALLEN series. I know it it not in the BAT...
I know I`m of the traget (topic) now but I took this up with Jannie Els the SA Team Captain. He - without hesitation - recommended the Savage action and mod 12 gun for Ftr. Told me about a good friend of him Stan Pate shooting only Savage Rifles for Ftr. Personally, I think there is merit in...
Thanks Eddybo,
I tend to agree with you. For one thing the service(back-up) might be better at BAT. Not knocking Stiller but I was dissapointed in their email response.
With F-Class in mind, what is the best action; BAT MB ROUND or STILLER VIPER SS, or are both great?
I emailed Stiller but their reaction is not what I would call enthusiastic or informative.
New to this so help would be appreciated.
After consulting Jannie Els, the South African F Class open Team Captain, I will be building a 7mm/.284Win. Also inspired by Charles Ballard.
* Broughton Barrel 5C, 32" Straight Contour 1,250" .
* BAT MB Action, Spiral fluted bolt.
* Precision Rifle & Tool Stock Ballard Free Riding for F-Class...
Congrats Jannie Els - South African Captain on your and your team`s achievements at the British Open.
It seems those Broughton Barrels and practise are a great combination. LOL.
I think the Yanks better watch out at Raton New Mexico in 2013 (The next World Championships).:)
