6.5 Creedmor or 6.5 PRC? Budget Rifle & Scope Recommendations?

I agree with the Tikka t3 for a rifle. I don't own one, but the Arken Optics 6-24x50 Gen 2 I would love to get my hands on to try out. Roughly costs $600. Attached link is a review from TiborasaurusRex on the scope. I would also invest is good rings, I am partial to Talley.

    25-06 Harvest Thread

This is my twin brother. Tikka t3 hunter in a 25-06 has been his go to hunting rifle for 15 years now. Photo is of his 2020 deer, but has taken numerous deer, antelope, and coyotes with this wonderful cartridge. His loads are a 117gr Hornady SST. Don't know his velocity of the top of my head though.

sale me on the 6.5 creedmore

I picked up a 6.5 x 55 SM instead of a 6.5 creedmore. Shoot what caliber/cartridge meets your needs or your interests. There are a lot of benefits to the 6.5 creedmore, but it's not a one-stop-shop.

    Powder Question for 7mm Mag

The included 0.5 MOA target included with the rifle from Fierce stated a velocity of 2982 fps with Hornady Hunter Precision factory ammo. Location is in Utah @ 5000ft elevation.

Seems to be the popular choice. Now the fun part of trying to find some.

    Powder Question for 7mm Mag

My Fierce Fury just arrived and I am itching to start working up some loads. I plan to start with a 162gr ELD-X. There are 5 powders that can reach 2900-3000 fps via Hornady's reloading manual. I currently have IMR-4831 and RL-22. The other three powders are Magpro, H1000, and RL-25. Are...

My dad wants a new rifle.

I just purchased a 7mm Mag from Fierce and I think that's why Dad wants a long range set up too. I can't wait to shoot it once it comes in.

My dad wants a new rifle.

My dad is looking at getting a new rifle. He has it narrowed down to three options: Bergara B-14 Wilderness, Bergara Premier Series, or the Seekins Havak PH2. All three rifles will meet his shooting/hunting needs. Is spending the extra ~$800 worth is to get the Bergara Premier or the Seekins...

Prone Shooting Positioning: Straight Line vs Angle/Bent Knee

I have been reading Nathan Foster's "The Practical Guide to Long Range Shooting, The art of a clean kill" and doing dry fire exercises trying to improve my fundamentals from different shooting positions. In the book, Mr. Foster describes straight line prone shooting as a "hot shot idea" and he...

Welcome! My dad was just talking about getting a Tikka T3 like my twin and I. What caliber is it?

    Help choosing a caliber

I do not own a 6.5 creedmore, I do however have a 6.5x55 Swede in a Tikka T3 hunter and a .243 in an older savage heavy barrel. When I go to shoot steel, predators, or prairie dogs, I grab the .243. It is a pleasant gun to shoot, all day. Mine can only stabilize 87gr Berger with its factory...

    LR Caliber Options

With a few custom rifles in various calibers already, you can be very niche with this build. What about building for F-class competitions? The 6mm in 115gr DTAC gets my recommendation.

    New to LRH

Welcome! As a novice myself, I have found "Applied Ballistics" by Bryan Litz and the YouTube series Sniper 101 by Tibosaures Rex to be great resources. The Sniper 101 series takes a bit to get thru all the material, but well worth the time investment.

    First shot hits

This is not a super fast way of attaining first round hits, but Calc Forms can be very useful when learning the process. I use the Calc Forms that Tiborasaurus Rex has posted in his Sniper 101 course; video 78 goes over how to use his version. I can do the math, but learning the wind is my...
