    22-24 inch barrel 7mm velocities.

It does look like Sherman brass is agd now, If I'm not mistaken when I looked into them on my last build it was reformed Winchester brass. Either way for a build for her I still want to stick with a more common cartridge.

    22-24 inch barrel 7mm velocities.

I will look into the bighorn. We aren't certain how we feel about waiting a year for the defiance. I am familiar with the ss line, while they are interesting we are gunna stick with cartridges that are proven competition cartridges. I also like the availability of norma brass for the saum...

    22-24 inch barrel 7mm velocities.

Defiance advertises max coal of 3.2 with their xm length action. This build is gunna be more of a 600 yard and in coues and mule deer gun. As such I don't expect to have any need to step up past 170s in weight. I haven't honestly looked at coal on the saum but I am sure we will be able to...

    22-24 inch barrel 7mm velocities.

Looks like I got my answer. The gun is actually my girlfriends build she couldn't decide what she wanted so I was trying to dig up a little extra data to help. She decided to go with the saum knowing we can always rebarrel to the .284 later if she sees a reason. Nuub I know I know I saw...

Coal or at least if you are running in longer or short actions would be relevant as well. I will be running a defiance xm action.

    22-24 inch barrel 7mm velocities.

I'm deciding between .284, 7 mag and 7 saum for a shortish lightish build. I just want to ask what kind of real world velocities people are getting out of 22-24 inch barrels and 170ish grain bullets with these cartridges. Yes I have searched on here and googled it, but more data never hurts...

Safe .44 mag loads for Smith and wesson 29-2

I plan to try to take a black bear this year with my smith and wesson 29-2 in .44 mag with an 8 1/4 inch barrel. I have taken javelina and an elk in the past with pistol. The plan as of right now is to practice with my Dan Wesson model 15 for a few months, switching to my .44 with target loads...

    Reseating factory norma ammo

I have a stack of loaded norma ammo I bought for the brass. I would prefer to shoot the ammo as foulers to empty the brass for loading but it is showing pressure signs in my gun. My reamer is set up for a slightly shallower throat than is typical of the cartridge in question. I suspect...

Decent boot for an elk hunt

I smoked a pair of danner boots in 2 weeks of deer hunting, haven't touched them since. I wear asolo now and they do great, kennatreck are supposed to be just as good as are the higher end lowa. If you don't do big miles often get whatever is comfortable. But I can tell you my 400 dollar...

    Temp stable .270 wsm powder

I see, I saw two columns that had the same powders in them and thought they were different but didn't look close. The left column is sorted in order of least to most affected, the right is sorted alphabetically. I thought at a glance the 50* comment was detonating that the two columns were...

    Temp stable .270 wsm powder

Just scored a pound of h1000. That settles that as long as it shoots well from my gun

    Temp stable .270 wsm powder

That's a mighty cool looking table. Do you mind if I ask where it comes from, who generated it and how? Also what the two columns mean? I see the right side says something about 50 degree and up so left side is a larger temp range and right is moderate to high temp? looks like the thing to...

    Temp stable .270 wsm powder

Yeah I was thinking I had re 23 not 22. The 22 will go to some purpose other than the hunting rifle. make target practice rounds probly
