    Long range mule deer rifle

7mm STW is what I built for mule deer and elk. Paired with a Barnes bullet, unreal performance..........

    Night vision scope recommendations

Been looking for a night vision scope for coyote hunting to go on my AR-15 5.56. Limitation would be under $1,000. I've looked at tons of articles and reviews to only be more confused. Looking for one that gives good vision out to 200 yards and reliable. Any comments or recommendations appreciated.

    7mm STW ballistics

I have a LabRadar and so far so good "for me". I don't have to contend with other shooters and love not missing shots due to lighting issues. Mounting base stinks but pretty easy to set up and use. I wish they had something that I could hook up to it and enter my information cal. bullet weight...

    Optics for your STW

I've got VX-6 3-18x50 with CDS side focus, just got my CDS dial in on Friday and with Barnes 145's at 3,454 fps 1.75" scope center I can get 650 yards with zero stop. I'm okay with the range because it's my hunting rifle and that's my limit.

If you don't mind me asking, what was your intent with the big pill? I started with 140 Barnes went to 150 Barnes and now 145 LRX, if everything holds up at 3 & 600 yards I'll stop there and stock up. Like you've stated before what it hits goes down.

The more I hear you guys talking, the more I think I'm getting to picky. I guess there's a point when one asks, how much better can I get. But, there's the common sense law, does it make a difference and is it woth it. I believe most of us get to a point that we just want to tinker around and I...

Do you prefer rl22 or 25 or is it just a recipe thing for each pill?

So far so good on the bolt, opens very easy. This stuff will drive you crazy and broke... I'd really like to get my ES down in the single digit, right now I'm running an ES of 12.

I'll try to, wish I had a setup like Lefty7mmstw to see my pressures. So far brass seems to be coming out well with no pressure signs. To be completely honest; I really wanted to hit 3,500 and clover leaf at 100 yards. But, for now 3,454 is close enough and 0.20 MOA we'll see what it holds at...

At this point, I've put 50 rounds through it and continue to monitor with the bore scope. I've loaded 5 more rounds to test at 300 yards to see if my group holds up. If it does well, I'll shoot 5 more at 600 and call it good and practice long range with my smaller calibers. Then save up for the...

I feel that I'm close to the top of my charge range and was just playing around to see if I could see any differences in accuracy. My goal was to try and hit 3,500 with the 145's and keep my clover leaf. I'm so close I can taste it, that why I'm working on small details. In the factory set up...

Thanks for the info, I was thinking of using the past to start that way I could get a good feel for flame and timing.
