    22 Hornet or 17 HMR

I would definatly go with the hornet, alot more hp for hunting, and very little added report.

    223 in Remington or Savage.

Yogi, I would suggest a savage 12bvss, but if your going out to that range, i would go a to a little bigger caliber, such as a 243, but if your dead set on a .224 caliber, go up to the 22-250, you'll need all the speed you can get for those heavy bullets.

I have one chambered in 6.5-284, and the thing shoots like crazy, and if i could ever get my head outa my @$$, im very sure this gun could break some 1000yd records, the only problem ive had with the barrel, is when i first got it it coppered really bad, after some jb, it hasnt coppered in the...

    Wild Rangefinder ? and others

Sam, The wild ranges in meters and i think the canadian would too, this can be a pia, so i went with a barr and stroud, these read in yards, if you can find them they will cost about the same as a wild, the bad thing is that they are very heavy, and need a good sturdy tripod, but are very...

400gr X 416 Remington Mag NOT Enough For GRIZZ?

Brent, The best way I can think to pratice this would be with a shot gun on a sporting clays course, its amazing how much shooting 50-100 clay birds a week will improve reflexes.

Dakor, If your takeing a shotgun for back up, go with the remington 870, I have both of the guns you mentioned, and the remington has never failed me, and you can beat the hell out of them and they will keep shooting, my beretta 391 has failed twice on me, both were mechanical failures, then...

    Berger 6.5mm 140 VLD's

Re: Berger 6.5mm 140 VLD\'s I havent shot any critters with them yet, but few weeks ago shooting at 1000 with my 6.5-284, at a piece of 3/16" steel, and water filled soda bottles, they were punching thru the steel, and didnt blow up water bottles very well, the ones i recovered from the ground...

what do you think of the ruger m77?

Parker, Go out and find a place to shoot that is the only way your going to hit stuff at long range, boresights in my opinion are a waste of money you can usally get fairly close with out one, get a rangefinder, know the ballistics of your gun, holdovers generally dont work very well when...

what do you think of the ruger m77?

Parker, IF possible shoot the thing/look at bore with bore scope or both, theres a very good chance the barrels shot out, the barrel with on that gun is probably a 1/12 so you will not be able to shoot heavy bullets, and on a windy day it will make lr hits very hard, you might be alot happier...

    Lapua Scenar 185 grs

I was shooting some of the 139gr in my 6.5/284, at 1000 yards and they didnt expand when they hit the dirt, and they put holes thru my 3/16" steel at that range, i think the jacket is too thick to open on deer/elk.
