Whats the worse rifle or gun you ever bought ? I hsve several tied

Taurus 617 titanium 7-shot snub nose .357 Mag. What a hunk of crap. The fixed sights were 3 to 6 inches low at 20 feet with everything from 110-158 grain loads and the trigger pull was long, heavy and full of grit. It was also magna-ported and would spray lead shavings through the ports...

    Quickload help

https://www.neconos.com/quickload-ballistic-prediction-software/ QuickLOAD/QuickTARGET Ballistic Prediction-Software V3.9 Do yourself a favor and don't buy from the UK source. Shipping is....very slow. If you want I can run a couple load simulations for you with the QL defaults, but keep in...

    Mini Chassis??

I'm kinda curious about this myself. I was told bedding is not required with a mini-chassis. I have 2 Manners stocks, one with a mini-chassis and one without (and no bedding). The mini-chassis definitely adds some weight, maybe 6 ounces? I may do a side-by-side comparison (same rifle, same...

    SOLD/EXPIRED H&K VP9SK in Las Vegas

VP9SK with OD green frame and Heinie ledge straight eight night sights, dated 2018 and still bright. Low round count, probably @ 250 rounds but I haven't kept count. 4 mags total (2-10 rounders & 2-13 rounders), plus a factory pinky extension. Comes with the factory box and everything it came...

    Reamer/reloading question

Those cases were running 140s at 2850, so not low pressure, probably @ 63 ksi. I had a couple firings on them without annealing, so I'll see if it makes any difference next time.

    7 SAUM vs 284 Win

Is it a .478 or a .535 bolt face? If .478, you could do the .284 Win since you already have brass for it (Lapua will make more at some point), or you might consider 280 AI for a bit more speed.

Does N570 really torch the throat quickly?

Thank you for this link! I checked this and compared to Vihtavuori's website and noticed there are several discrepencies with the data in Quickload.... Garbage in/garbage out indeed. kJ/kg_powder 3500_N165 3600_N133 3630_H1000 3650_N160 3700_N120 3700_N555 3750_N130 3760_H4350 3770_RL23...

    Tbac suppressor mount

If all your rifles have the same muzzle threading, a direct mount is all you need. The direct mount is the same can with a CB attached to it internally. At $125/each, CB's aren't exactly cheap so there's no reason to get one for each rifle if they all have the same muzzle threading. My $0.02...

favorite powder for 45-70 modern loads?

I bet 1850 fps with 405 gr pills will clear out your sinuses! I went back and forth on 130 vs. 133 as they were the same price. Checked as much published load data as I could find, and played around with different bullet weights in Quickload and P-Max ballistics. In the end it came down to my...

favorite powder for 45-70 modern loads?

I really wanted to try RL7 but prices on Alliant powders are completely jacked. 5 lbs of RL7 for same price as 8 lbs of N130? Easy decision.

favorite powder for 45-70 modern loads?

IMR 4198 is one of the more versatile powders that works well with various bullet weights. The latest pricing and availability pushed me toward finding one or more substitutes. I landed on N120 (300-350 gr) and N130 (350-420 gr) at significant discounts. Have only tried the N120 thus far with a...

Stick with my 6.5 Creedmoor or…….

If you just want a bit more range, the cheapest option might be to have one reamed out to 6.5-284. Same bolt face, same bullets. I believe Lapua makes brass for it.

    45-70 subsonic projectiles

I haven't done it but Unique and Trail Boss might be worth a try. I have a feeling it's going to be a filthy low pressure experience. Unique you can load up or down. Maybe even 2400? Hodgdon lists 12-13 gr Trail Boss at trap door levels for 971-1007 fps with a 405 gr pill. All the lighter...
