Monstadoe down with smokeless Rem 700, 370 yd shot

I do not believe they are that much more. What made my decision was Luke telling me I will notice no difference in the barrels when used as a hunting rifle/occasional shooter. Not only that but I started from ground zero, I had no donor rifle so I was forced to buy an action from Luke (Not cheap...

Monstadoe down with smokeless Rem 700, 370 yd shot

I will say this. I have NEVER been so confident behind a rifle than with this. Dial up your yardages and fire. Plus shooting smokless powder at high velocity with high BC bullets gives me extreme confidence in longer range shots. I am use to slug huntng before building this rifle. I probably...

Monstadoe down with smokeless Rem 700, 370 yd shot

I would say the vast majority of folks use Pacnor. In that group a lot of them shoot sabot less. Much like myself, this gun can shoot more accurately than I could probably fire it. I have yet to get out and shoot longer range with it but as soon as I do I will be sure to post. I pondered between...

Monstadoe down with smokeless Rem 700, 370 yd shot

Went out yesterday to kill a doe for our land owner. Slow night but this big nanny came out at 370 yds. I dialed up 5.5 MOA, squeezed the trigger off, then BOOM! Quartering away. Shot her right behind the shoulder and it came out her neck. Brutal exit wound.

    Savage MLII

Although I do not have a savage. I just finished a custom Remington 700 smokeless. A friend shot a buck this past weekend with it here in IL. I will never go back to substitutes as long as the law allows it. This gun is just flat amazing. Shooting 70 gr IMR4198 275 match hunter sabot less and...

TC Impact trigger, free floating, and bedding

Well all, I finished the built of my Remington 700 smokeless muzzleloader. This thing is awesome! I was out shooting it this weekend and was extremely impressed with its capabilities. It is pushing a 275 gr Parker Match Hunter at 2750 FPS with aprox 5,000 foot lb kinetic energy. I cannot wait to...

TC Impact trigger, free floating, and bedding

Will do. I am reading as we speak about load and what powder. Holy moly lol. There are a lot of options. Burn rates, pressures, duplex loading. I would love to just have a single load rather than duplex but I can't find any good posts documenting results with say 10x or others. I will be honest...

TC Impact trigger, free floating, and bedding

Sorry, missed the other part of the question. I have been doing a lot of research and haven't really found anything other than what bullet to use. Which for ranges in excess of 600 yds seems the match hunter. But I do not know what powder to purchase or what gr to start at. I need to buy a scale...

TC Impact trigger, free floating, and bedding

He did not specify barrel size, but he is supposed to be sending me the invoice. I am going to request the .458 like you suggested. I have no problem spending the extra money on match hunters if that means not having to turn them down.

Just out of curiosity. What length barrel are you running on that BP Extreme?
