    Redding Competition Shellholders

Hey La Thanks for joining in for me. I really didn't realize that it could take 2-3, I'm thinking maybe more for the brass to "grow" to my chamber. I must pay closer attention to how many times the brass is fired now. And, use my Competition shell holders to control the bump

Thanks Mike! So... I won't size the brass until it stops chambering smoothly. What about trimming? Can I set up my Redding Type S FL Sizing Die to neck?.. or just get a Neck sizing die?

I think that the video sent by gohring explains it best. Start with a fully fire-formed case. (that won't chamber) Start with the .010 shell holder...and proceed till the round chambers Is that correct? Am I missing something? Thanks for your help!!

As I understand it reducing shoulder bump to a minimum will cause my brass to expand less, thus increasing the brass life... and may improve consistency

Gohring.... Thanks much. That may indeed be the answer!! I didn't know that the cartridge case MAY require several firings, to be truly fire formed. That has to be it!! Would you recommend, NOT sizing the brass at all for my handloads until I reach the point that the fired brass does NOT...

Thanks All, for your replies! The fired brass actually, DOES chamber with out sizing. Yes, the brass is fully fire formed, in the same rifle...maybe fired once or twice. I thought of lapping the .010" shell holder, but I'm afraid it just wont sit "square" while contacting the press ram

Good Day, All I've pick up the Redding Competition Shell Holders Set. Loading for 7MM Rem Mag (Sako 85 Finnlight) I'm trying to minimize should bump (to .002", or so) As I understand it the .010 holder (.010" deeper, than the standard shell holders, that are usually .0.125") will allow the case...

    Bolt Difficulty after Firing!

Hey Rich At the risk of sounding like a drama-queen, I'm sick over this. Could this just happen, "just like that"?? I've just used a toothbrush to really clean out the area in the receiver where the bolt locks, hoping that there was just a small piece of something, that was boogering-up...

    Bolt Difficulty after Firing!

Beneviolence... Thanks for your input, it's much appreciated! I have tried what you have suggested, replacing the bolt, as if there was a cartridge loaded, and dry fired on an empty chamber... The result, when opening the bolt is a sickening grind that is felt, using more force than would be...

    Bolt Difficulty after Firing!

Can't really get a good close up pic... I've been having a problem with the FL Sizing for this rifle, and couldn't get the cartridges to chamber after FL Sizing Finally, after using a Hornady Headspare Compatator tool, I was able to measure the fire formed brass and was able to adjust the...
