Look at the Speer bullets. The Impact has high BC and its a bond bullet. Can see testing on you tub. They look interesting I just got some for my 6.5 creed 140 gr
A cow is still MEAT in the freezer. You had a COW tag ,unless you could shoot eather the cow was your only choice. Meat in freezer is better than tag soup. Cut it into smaller pieces/ quarters. I packed a moose out that way several times and over 1.5 miles, I was 65 . Or get a game cart.
45 -70 Sharp's, originall.. Driving home from work in 1977 saw a yard sale and stopped because of the vet sitting there. Looked at car and other car parts then saw several rifles. He wanted $300 for it.
I only had two on me so raced to the bank cot more money and got back just in time to...
I disagree with you as I have taken caribou at 400 with no problem.plus moose near that range. I also know the 308 can take a elk at 600 yards, helped pack it out. The right bullet and someone
that knows his rifle. The longest sniper kill with a 308 is 2700 yards. You can look it up. I agree...
Out of your 7-08 l would pick one of the blistic tips 140 or 150. Which shoots best in your rifle. My nephew uses 140 barnes out of a 270 sm and gets sheep out to 550 yards. Lower volosity from yours at that range go with lighter built bullet.
I m shooting a 300 WM with 180 gr at 3000fps. I set mine for point blank for the animals
I hunt most . That way for a quick shot I m not trying to turn diel, just point and shoot.
Anything past 300 yards I have more time to set diel and set up for shot.
