Man that was a pretty silly thing to do, your very lucky that case didnt seperate. The problem was a no brainer excessive head space to the extreme, seating the bullet into the lands may have taken up the excess and allowed the firing pin to do its job but that brass is going to flow foward...

I shoot my edge there all the time, and i also saw that stupid notice on the office window. What they dont like is brakes, whats the diff between 338 ultra, 338 edge, 338lm, 300 ultra etc etc etc. They all burn a similar amount of powder. My head stamp also reads 300 rem ultra mag, those dopes...

I would totally recomend larrys digital headspace guage i bought one and their very easy to use and very accurate, worth every cent.

I also think the case master is probably misleading you, ive used it on big magnum cases such as 338 edge , 300 win mag etc to measure neck thickness with poor results. Ionly use it for checking case neck and bullet runout now, it seems to work fine for that. However it performs better for neck...

Hi razor, their just a nice snug fit. Just push them in till they wont go any further, they wont move at all. I even used a 300 ultra guide in my edge till i got one in 338 cal and it didnt move a bit even with a brush going thru it that was to fat for the guide. Imo their as good as anything...

Possum hollow guide #42 should do the trick.

Good choice on the t7 , its the biggest ,strongest turrert press around i use both it and the redding big boss, im very picky about neck and bullet runout and the t7 wont introduce these problems to your reloading at all.

3150 fps with a 200 gn bullet out of a 300 win mag time for a new chronagraph i would think.

Hey guys i got the urge to build another rifle, and i would like a 6.5 284 . Use would be mainly hunting and some range work, and i dont mind a bit of weight so it dosnt need to be a real light. which action , barrel type and lengh etc would you suggest.
