Thanks for the insight I did not think about the more rigid barrel that trimming down would produce. I don't like loosing FPS but that is better than accuracy. Thanks again for your thoughts

I enjoy everything about my Rem 700 in 300 win mag except for the 26" barrel. I Would love to shorten it down to 22" or 24". How much accuracy would I loose I am shooting a .5 MOA and hate to mess with a good shooting rifle. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
