Thanks for all the help. I just found my dope sheet for the 168 Amax load( 42.5gr Varget and Fed 210 primers, new Lapua brass loaded by a friend). She was pushing 2667 fps. The firing point speed of sound was: 1142.72 fps. The bullet drops sub sonic at 1122 yards. At an altitude of 931 feet...

Thanks, I ran 42.5 varget with 168amax and they did ok but friends are saying to go with 175s. Ive got all the fancy stuff to reload but havent tried it yet. Still waiting on my Giraud. Jason

Has anyone worked up loads for a Rem 700 5R .308 with 175gr. I ran some 168gr Amax with 42.5 gr of Varget in Lapua cases and 210 primers. They preformed pretty good but couldnt make hits much past 1050 yards. From what I know the 5R barrels were designed for a 168gr bullet. Any luck with 175...
