I need Expert Advice reloading 300 WSM

That's good advice that I've also read elsewhere. I was real tempted to try it but at 2.90" I'm jumping the Accubonds a whopping .305 and still shooting sub-MOA groups. I didn't even play around with a shorter seating depth or try other primers. Plus, Tikka magazines can be a little spendy.

I need Expert Advice reloading 300 WSM

I agree with the recommendation of H4350 and have had good luck with RL17 . This was shot from a Tikka with 1:11 twist. Nosler 150 gr Accubond, 66.5 gr H4350, CCI 250 primer, 2.90 OAL, Win brass, 3150 fps, .90" @ 100 yds Nosler 180 gr Accubond, 64.0 gr H4350, CCI 250 primer, 2.90 OAL, Win...

    .243 load help please

Nosler 95gr Partition, 39.6 gr RL-17, CCI 200 primer, COL 2.676 (.020 off lands), 2830 fps, ES 6, SD 3, 0.625" 3-shot group @ 100 yards. Not a particularly fast load but a really great youth whitetail load. My son's rifle is a Savage model 10 with 1:9.25 twist.

May have almost made a huge error

In my opinion Barnes data is a little conservative. However, you'll likely find the sweet spot is less than published max anyway. Start at 63 gr. and work up slowly watching for pressure signs. You'll probably find your best groups around 68 gr. Barnes bullets like a lot of jump too so start...

    Help with 325 WSM Loads

I just looked at my load development log again and the best I could get with H4350 and the Nosler 200 gr Accubond was 1.25" at 100 yards seated .020 off the lands. I believe that's when I switched to RL 17.

    Help with 325 WSM Loads

My Savage model 16 325 WSM likes this combination: Nosler 200 gr Accubond, 64.7 gr Reloder 17, CCI 250 primer, 2.870 C.O.L, .020" to the lands, 2904 fps, ES7, SD4, 0.457" group @ 100yds. I also shoot 180 gr Accubonds out of a Tikka 300 WSM with .302" to the lands. They seem to like being...

    300 WSM brass life question

Win head-stamp in 300WSM has pretty much gone the way of the Do-Do bird. You might try Bertram Brass from Australia. It's available here: Graf & Sons - BERTRAM BRASS 300 WSM UNPRIMED 20/BOX - Graf & Sons I've never used any but I hear their quality has gone up a lot in the last couple of...

    .243 WIN Pressure signs/Ejector marks

Hi everyone, I've been reloading for a long time and reload for several different rifle and pistol calibers. Yesterday, for the first time ever, I noticed ejector marks on 5 out of 15 of my RP brass. I shot a mixture of RP and Win brass during the session but none of the Win brass showed any...

    Meplat deforming in magazine.

I have the same problem with my 300 WSM. I added a brake and keep my OAL to .001 under max magazine length so the cartridges can't "travel" very far. Seems to help.
