I LOVE my 338-06 and like others have said it's easy to reload. I picked up a 2 1/2 gallon bucket full of 30-06 brass in a trade and neck it up. 200gr Accubonds over a healthy charge of RL17 or VV N-550 have been the sweet spot for me.

Middle Tennessee here. There are quite a few places in Middle and East Tennessee that will fit your ideal location. For example, my driveway is over a half mile long and my nearest "neighbors" are a Mennonite family nearly a mile away if you cut through the woods and across the fields lol...

I second this. My 338-06 is my favorite all around hunting rifle and RL17 has given me great results. VV N550 works well too.
