Best grain bullet for 300 RUM

The 215 Berger gets my vote. 90.5 grs of H1000 Fed 215 and Norma brass gives me 3090 FPS. and sub 1/2" MOA

    Berger 215 Hybrids in a 300 RUM

Just put the finishing touches on load development. 3088 fps Norma brass Fed 215 under 90.5 grs H1000 at Mag length 3.615 gives me 5/8/MOA@ 100yds. Barrel has less than 100 rounds thru it. Time to take it further to see if they group better at range, as I've heard. Use Caution and work up slow!

Best muzzle brake for 300 RUM

Anyone have any experience with the brakes that the guys at Snowy Mountain Rifles are producing ? Called them to get a price on installing a Terminator and they claim to have a great product themselves. ( Who would have thought ). The price is right...at $245 installed. Like the local...

Best muzzle brake for 300 RUM

Who makes the best recoil reducing brake for a 300 RUM ? They're all loud in comparison to no brake, so noise isn't a concern for me. Thanks in advance

    Ultra mags and Berger Bullets

Thanks for all the input. I had been working on developing a load with the 175 gr. LRAB's with less than stellar results in my 7 RUM. I however have 2 boxes of 168 VLD's from my 7 RM. So before creating more frustration for myself I thought I'd throw it to the forum for input.. Any one...

    Ultra mags and Berger Bullets

How many of you RUM shooters are shooting Bergers at magazine length with good accuracy? ( Sub MOA ) or better . Seems to me that unless you have a RUM custom chambered there is no way to seat bullets any where near the "sweet spot". The RUM's just have too much freebore, .40 if I remember...

    Seating depth and Bergers

Great info.. Followed it to the T for finding the best seating depth for my 7 RM. My question is... the RUM's have I believe .40 freebore, how does a guy deal with this dramatic jump to the lands ? Are the Hybrids the answer? Or is reasonable accuracy ( sub MOA ) possible with the VLD's in a...

    Seating depth and Bergers

I've read about everything I can find on seating Berger VLD's. I shoot them with great success in my 7 RM. What is a guy to do with the long throats in the Ultra mags ? I currently shoot a 7 RUM and have a 300 RUM coming soon. The 300 will be firing the 215 Hybrids, but I have 2 boxes of 168...

Accuracy Issues with 30 cal Nosler 190 gr Accubond LR

Was getting dark fast. But from what I could tell a portion of it may. There was 1 rib on the off side that was broken from something small.

Accuracy Issues with 30 cal Nosler 190 gr Accubond LR

My son is currently shooting the ABLR 190's in his 300WM. Accuracy is pretty good, 5/8" at 100 yds. This past weekend the shot a Bull Elk CLOSE like 30 yds.. Great shoulder shot. Bullet NEVER exited ! Didn't even make it to the rib cage on the off side !! Terrible terminal performance for a...

175 gr Long Range Accubond in 7 RUM

Looking for a little help with seating depth. Nosler says to load as close to the lands as possible. Tried 3.60 and got marginal results with Retumbo and RL25. Anyone have any info they'd be willing to share ? Best group to date with these is around 1.25-1.5 MOA Thanks

    257 Weatherby and Retumbo ?

To be quite honest my 257 Roy is actually a Remington 700 CDL. Love that cartridge though. Just looking for more. Haven't shot much RL-25 with the AB's, maybe thats the recipe ??

    257 Weatherby and Retumbo ?

Anyone out there shooting a 257 and Retumbo or am I looking for some thing that just doesn't work well. I'm shooting 110 gr Accubonds over 7828 with Nosler brass fired by Fed 215's. Looking to improve on a good thing. Thanks
