    Bino harness

I use the Badlands with the magnetic closure. Love it. Hasn't messed with navigation yet!

    Kimber Rifle accuracy?

I have a Kimber Montana in 300WSM. Love the weight, love the stock, love the stainless. The 24" bbl is very thin. It is a 1.25" gun with lots of rounds of 130g and 180g thru it. The 130's were all Barnes factory TTSX loads and they were lasers, at 1.25". The 180's were mostly Accubonds of...

    Az couse deer

In my experience there are no short range Coues shots. The terrain is characteristically mountains/canyons. There is a reason they call it a "poor man's sheep hunt". Every shot I've had has been ridge to ridge. I'm on one side of canyon below ridgeline and the deer is opposite for 400yds plus...

6.8 Western- has it been abandoned already?

I think it's nearly perfect. If I had the money right now, I'd be buying one. Get a couple hundred pieces of brass and have fun for a long time.

    H 570, 25 pounds of it.

Those 2 sources didn't list any 2400 powder. BTW, It drives me crazy how old manuals don't list manufacturer (I get it under the circumstances) BUT then there is no easy source for who made what when and therefore be able to properly interpret old data. No manuf should label a powder with the...

Speer No. 3 and No. 9 do not list 2400 for 222 Mag.

    Generalized bullet selection for hunting….

I'm a huge fan of bonded bullets (I've only used Accubonds). And I have a collection of bullets that says they certainly don't all exit. I'd rather they did for blood trail but they don't. In fact, I'd say they don't-exit more than they do-exit. But that's just my experience. We all know this...

    Question for Lefties

I'm left eye dominant, but right handed. I learned to shoot all right-handed long guns left handed. There weren't many options by the way. But I sure wish I had learned and own left handed guns. One reason, BTW, I would like to go to Africa and hunt dangerous game. Trying to do that with a poor...

Building an Elk Load - 7mm08

Thanks all. Need powder! (And primers and bullets)- gettin' thin!

Building an Elk Load - 7mm08

Hmm. I would love it if that was the answer. But it seems pretty right on for a number of other calibers. Funny you say that because when I first bought my "chronograph" I started calling it my "disapointograph". But had to come to conclusion it was right.

Building an Elk Load - 7mm08

2 yo gun. I have a couple hundred rounds through it all of which I chronograph. Both factory and reloads. Factory loads 150-200 fps slow and reloads only ~50 slow. So I've chalked it up to long freebore, but I don't really know. I'll stick to reloads obviously but the next issue is lighter loads...

Building an Elk Load - 7mm08

I've thought it was excessive also, but I wouldn't know what to look at. Too much freebore, headspace, leade angle, bore diameter, ...? Thoughts?

Building an Elk Load - 7mm08

I've been loading for my wife's 708. It has a 20" tube. I lose 200fps against published vels for factory ammo (which of course are based on 24" tubes) and, inexplicably, are much closer to reloading books (also 24" data) with my handloads. Nevertheless, 500yds sounds like an awful long poke...
