Vortex Razor HD LH vs Razor LHT

I had fun with the erector today getting it 0'd and shooting all over the **** place. Definitely seemed to track well. The windage turret is super mushy though, I really wouldn't want to dial windage long range. Glass looks great and I love the reticle as far as clarity/precision goes, though...

Ya it is unfortunate they don't have the hashed reticle option for the 50mm

Vortex Razor HD LH vs Razor LHT

Ya in playing with mine, the mechanics are all very impressive coming from my Viper HS. The main downside is that windage turret. The G4 reticle is very clear and nice, really draws my eye to the dot. But it makes holding wind hard, and the windage turret is pretty mushy. I'm not sure you'd feel...

Reloading questions on 280AI and 270WSM

I can’t find load data anywhere for RL23. Have it anywhere for 270wsm and 280ai?

Reloading questions on 280AI and 270WSM

For sure but that’s why I’m specifically asking about the RL19. Any opinion there? Seems to be one of the most common recommendations for both 270wsm and 280ai. How would you rate it compared to the 23?

For sure I will try that out and see how it goes. Ya seating isn't as bad as I thought, but ya way long for the magazine.

Reloading questions on 280AI and 270WSM

See this is my problem in the research haha. Everyone seems to have a different powder recommendation. I guess I was just hoping to find a fairly temp stable powder that would work for both guns. I noticed a lot of RL-19 recommendations in quite a few threads for both guns is why I asked about...

Reloading questions on 280AI and 270WSM

So ya just checked where the lands are again: This is a Barnes TSX (the only bullet I have lying around) that I gently put in the shell then closed the bolt and took it out, so that is right against the lands. The shell next to it is a factory precision hunter. As you can see the bullet...

Reloading questions on 280AI and 270WSM

Not crimping, I just mean like the bullet is barely in the cartridge on the Tikka, the lands are just so far out there. 0.05 off the lands and the bullet would be like 1/18th inch into the brass. Can you recommend why RL23 would be better than RL19 for our guns? None of the manuals I have even...

Reloading questions on 280AI and 270WSM

Hey everyone. Got a few quesitons. My dad shoots a Cooper excalibur M52 (24" barrel 1:9 twist I believe) in 280AI and I shoot a Tikka T3 lite stainless 270WSM. He is heading up my way to visit for a couple weeks and we wanted to learn to reload together. We currently both shoot Hornady...

    280AI, N560, and 175 Elite Hunter data

The Hornady manual has data for their 175 grains but sounds signifigantly lower than what you're looking at. Max load: IMR 4350: 51.7Gr RL-19: 54.8 Gr IMR7828: 69.9gr They don't have N560 poweder though. So not sure.

    new rifle suggestions

One thing to consider with those choices is the Sako will have an actually short action. Tikka only makes a long. The bolt throw on the sako will be a little shorter too due to the 3 lug bolt vs 2 on the Tikka. They will likely shoot the same. The Sako is like double the price but if you're...

    new rifle suggestions

This is exactly true. The 270 will also shoot flatter and hold more energy, and penetrate more than the 308 at all ranges, while having similar recoil. I also second the Tikka recommendations. The Superlite is about a light of a factory gun as you can get, the action is the smoothest of any out...
