Just finished a Lothar Walther barrel

Bit late into the discussion, but ive chambered a few LW barrels. All done via a through the spindle flush system, barrel spinning at 200rpm and piloted PTG reamers and bald eagle reamer holder. Steel cut very well and finished chambers were concentric (2/10000 ths run out) Rifles shoot...

    Swarovski-Schmidt and Bender

I have a 3-12 x 50 Schmitt and also Leup Mk 4, 4-14 x 50 and 6.5 - 20 x 50 LRT. IMHO the Leups do not have the same light transmission of the German glass. They are close but not quite there. The build quality is equal. Both my Leups have mildot reticules and the Schmitt has a no7 (european)...

    22-250 advice

Derek I have 22-250 AI, most accurate loads are 39.5g RL22, fed match primer, under a 75g moly A-max, (1 in 8 twist barrel) 3250 fps and in the .2's" when I do my bit. Usually gets me a place in my local Deer society shoots. Very effective on varmints but not Roe, which I feed on 63g Sierra...

    RPA Interceptor

Derek try a 22-250 AI with fast twist. I have one and it is just the ticket for Roe.

    mcmillan lazzeronni

Nowler, there is a test of a Mcmillan Lazzeroni thumbhole stocked Riflecraft RPA in this months Shooting Sports mag. Don't know whether you can get it in your area? Stock looks a bit strange, think I prefer a "normal" pistol gripped Mac. AM

this sounds dum but how do u clean a stainless steel barrel

I aggree with nowler that the Forrest Foam is very useful, but don't have the time (or patience!) to do one shot every 24 hrs. My rifles all have stainless match grade barrels and are cleaned using Forrest Foam, JB Bore paste and Hoppes no9: NEVER MIXED, I HASTEN TO ADD Fire 1 shot, Forrest...

    RPA Interceptor

JR I was refering to the mag release, which was a bit exposed when I last looked. I thought that it may lead to lost mags if out stalking in dense thicket. I coudn't aggree more about Peter Jackson, his work is very good, I had him rebarrel a Tikka 595 a couple of years ago with one of your...

    RPA Interceptor

Nowler, I considered one of these when looking for another "project" It was to be in 6.5x284 for long range high seat deer. However, the chaps at RPA don't make it in a long action so it had to be discounted (I have gone the customised Remmy route) The Interceptor is a very nice rifle if a...

    22-250 for heavier bullets?

Timberflint I have a Tikka 595 rebarelled with a Border 1 in 8 twist heavy profile chambered for 22-250 AI, set into a Mcmillan Sako varmint stock. I use exclusively 75 grain A-max moly under 39.5grains of RL22, get approx 3290fps and .45"groups at 100. Not excessive long range, but have taken...

    HS Precision quality control (revisited)

All the previous comments justify to me why I have just ordered another custom from my gunsmith and not waited for HS to reply to my e-mail,,,,which I sent to them over three months ago!! I am glad my £2000 is spent elswhere.

    220 Swift vs. 22-250 for varmints...Opinions Please

I have a 22-250 Ackley Improved with a 1 in 8 twist barrel. 75 grain A-Max are just the ticket for long range varmint sized targets. Running at moderate speeds (3300 fps) there is reduced barrel wear, which is a problem with the Swift and the Ackley has benefits over the standard 22-250 in that...

    which Devcon product

Regarding my last post, the Devcon product I use is part number 10271. Stainless Putty, it comes in a 500g container with a smaller pot of hardener. When mixed it is almost runny (honey) like consistancy and remains workable at UK temp of 16 - 18 degrees for 30 mins.

    which Devcon product

I use a Devcon putty with stainless steel micro-granuals mixed in. This ensures little or no rusting, it is very very strong and the mix when hardened can be relatively easily machined. Sorry I don't have any part numbers for you but i'm sure you will find what I mean if your stockist has nine...

    HS Precision rifle, pics!

Express, the HTR looks just fine and having looked at the posted targets it apears to shoot well too. I have a catalogue from HS and was thinking of a HTR in 6.5x284 but they don't seem to list any of their barrels in 6.5. Do you or any of you across the pond know if they can do one in this...
