You can sight in with handloads or cheaper factory logs, but you will still have to do your final sighting in with whatever you will be using to hunt. You will be amazed at the different point of impact.
How do you make a shotgun weigh 10 lbs? I carried an M1 and an M14 and they weighed about that but had half a tree plus up to 20 rounds on them. It sounds like Savage wants a new BAR!
I saw somewhere on the internet that a 6.5 Creedmore was good to 10 miles. Since it was on the internet, it must be true. Of course you could solve the problem by being a better hunter and getting closer to the game.
I had a flat bolt Ruger M77 that wouldn’t shoot very good groups until I used H380 behind a Speer 165 gr. boattail, CCI 200 primers and LC brass. H380 is not supposed to be good in a .308 but it worked in that rifle.
Sig Cross bolt action for around $1,800 is chambered for it. The case is a
hybrid Steel base and brass body. The whole thing sounds weird. I doubt this will be a reloadable round.
For what it's worth, Cooper does the target test with reloads. I haven't seen what his reloads were but I am wondering if maybe he is loading maximum loads and is suffering the start of case separation. Someone asked him to do a test with a paper clip to see if there was a ring in that area...
