I use Limbsaver and American Precision Fat Bastards on all my high powered rifles. My 338 LM’s have negligible recoil. Something Very Important: I always tell everyone around me at the range I have a brake and suggest where not to stand…..I also offer to let them shoot my rifle. Those 2 things...
IMHO I think that caliber is an excellent choice. I own several, from the Savage LRH all the way to a $12,500 Gunwerks….. Extremely happy with every one!. I use a Limbsaver recoil pad and American Precision Fat Bastard brake on all of them. Recoil is neglible…..

A book worth its weight in gold is “Hunting in Alaska” by Christopher Batein. BUY IT!! First of all you need how to hunt in bear country, how you field dress after the kill, and how you pack it out. All done completely different in bear country. IE: one person field dresses & the other stands...
I have a S&W 500 that has the muzzle brake. Shoot it all day& drive nails with it.....I see threads all over about “recoil” and “reduced loads”..........it makes me think someone is in the wrong sport.....but then again I lived in Alaska for quite a while........
