EXO for me.

I just rebarreled to a 270 weatherby and had the freebore removed. Had barrel stamped 270 Coues. No special dies needed. Use 264 win mag data and work up. Just got the barrel broke in so will start shooting for groups soon.

What did you use for a follower, or did you modify the original?

Several of us use the Phone Scope with the Swaro 15x56 HD and it works great. Just need t make sure it's pushed all the way on to the binos. Use the phone scope blue tooth transmitter to work the shutter for stills and videos.

I went from 1/4 teaspoon to 1/8 and my brass looks way better.

Once you get them fire formed and you resize to push the shoulder back .002-.003 you should be good to go.

I would try jamming them about .010. Sounds like Nosler AI brass and old style reamer.

Have you tried seating the bullets out to just engage the rifling on the ones you are fireforming? That is standard practice on Ackley Improved cartridges with out a belt. It keeps the back of the case pushed against the bolt. Sounds like the case is moving forward and some are not igniting...

On Kenny Jarretts website in the 323 Jarrett section of Kennys pet calibers he talks about rebarreling numerous Rem 700's in 8mm Mag that wouldn't shoot well. He suspects the bore and grooves were slightly oversized. Not saying that is it but something to consider.

Another option for the 8 mag enthusiasts is the 323 Jarrett. (8mm Rem Mag Improved) I had him chamber me one and it shoots lights out. 3250 with a 200 gr Barnes. He has dies and you just fire form standard 8mm Rem Mags. Mine is on a Rem 700 action with a 26 inch Lilja barrel.
