Take a big case and put gear in it. It costs the same for an extra bag if it’s a Single or a 4 rifle case. Use the space for gear you want to protect on the flight. Binoculars, spotting scope, etc. Load it up as and use the spade.
Tikka magazines length is too short for long magnum. I think you are limited to 3.45 or so oal. 300 wsm would be a better choice on a tikka. Maybe the chassis allows you to go longer than that is if so then have at it.
Send it back and check it when you get it back. I wouldn’t assume anything other than it was not chambered properly from the factory to start out. Don’t waste your time and money chasing anything until they have been ruled out.
