    Questions for the Chassis Gang

Hi I'm an aussie shooter, I noticed your bullet holder on your stock & wondered where you got it..or did you make it? I have a 338 Edge savage action action sitting in a Mcmillan adjustable stock. My bullets are too long for the magazine so I single feed which isn't a real problem, but, having...

    Mixing small lots of powder?

I have mixed the same powders from different lots for my 338 Edge on many occasions, but I drop the load back just a couple grains & run them through your chrono & Squint on the first shot... being really slow powders, they seem to be reasonably consistent from lot to lot..Good luck with it &...

    Practice rifles

I use 22 with target ammo at 200 mts in my back paddock, I've got the basics right but shooting at that range in any wind teaches you wind reading real good,, which is usually why you miss at longer range.(600 mts +). For hunting I use a 338 Edge, 300 Whby mag, 7mm rem mag... I can afford to...

    Mcmillan bedding job gone wrong

It's probably repairable, but its a long tedious job, but if the stock fits you, why not have go at fixing it yourself with marine tex & working it back to where it should be... There is no way you could make it worse....

    A strange problem with 6,5x284 - Pressure

I have the same with a semi custom 7mm rem mag with match grade barrel, my gun runs the same velocities in the reloading manual with 4-6 grains below listed starting loads.. but it shoots great so I've stopped chasing the tail of the dragon & just use it as it is......

[ I have a similar set-up, but my "dial in distance"is 609 meters, which is a 10 in plate I have setup on my range..When I'm going hunting, I'll wander out onto the range, in a different place everytime..Quickly range the plate & make the shot .. which is at a different angle to me & how the...

Need some advice on picking a scale.

I started with a beam balance (ohaus) used it without fail for 20 years before buying a RCBS charge master which was pretty good most of the time, BUT as time wore on it began getting a little erratic,so I started using the beam balance to check the weights it was showing, +or -1/10 of a grain...

NEW POLL - Will your next rifle scope be first or second focal plane?

After making that post I had a good look at the Vortex Razor, going by the specs it would seem my concerns re the size of the subtensions is not an issue on the 1st focal plane scopes, I'm still sitting on the fence though re 1st v 2nd focal plane..I don't like to mess with my tried & true...
