Just worked on a load with a friend for a sendero using 215's and h-1000. Accuracy load in the factory barrel is at 2740fps. Kinda slow but he is going to run with till hunting season is done and it gets a new benchmark barrel. I think we got about 700 yards for the bullet to drop down to 1800...

I run a 7mm-300WM and with H1000 and a 180 Berger hitting 3130ish fps I still have a bit of room left in the case for powder. Being the 270 is a tad smaller bore you might want to see what slower powders are available to you and run them on quick load if possible to see where your case volume...

The way I understood things is that the 160's jacket was a bit thicker and maybe not a great choice for lower impact velocities

I would imagine you'd get over 3000 fps with that set-up as I'm getting about 2920 from a 26 inch 6.5-06. I've used that bc number out to just about 1400 I believe and it was spot on using a kestre with Horus.

Here is a 150 recovered from a deer with an impact velocity of about 2200fps I believe the jacket on the 160's is a bit thick for hunting at distance.
