    How's Norma Brass?

Opinions differ but I am also down here in Oz , and have been using Norma brass since the '70's and continue to do so. Just bought 200 cases for a .220 Swift ready to fire form to AI, beautiful. I have used Norma cases for 25/06, .270, 9.3 x62 and .220 Swift AI. I use Lapua in my .308 Palma gun...

Kahles Optics on your Coyote Rig?

The first Kahles scope I owned was a steel tubed blued scope that was mounted on a 2nd hand Parker Hale .270 I bought about 25 years ago. They were 25mm tubes to which made it an issue trying to obtain suitable rings. In those days Kahles were the pick of the Euro Scopes and to a lesser degree...

Kahles Optics on your Coyote Rig?

I have just bought 2 Kahles KX Helia Series Scopes , a 3-9x42 4D Reticle to put on a .260Rem & a 3.5-10x50 4D Reticle to go on a .220 Swift AI. The 3.5-10x50 is to replace a 3.5-18x44 BRX Swaro which is too much scope for the .220. Kahles whilst under the same corporate banner as Swaro, are in...

    Bullet Seating Depth

Mike , fully agree , get that variance down to as little as possible. But sometimes I do wonder if we get too clever for ourselves. Some time back I did a little test , I grabbed a hand full of 155 Nosler CC and a hand full of 155 Sierras 2155 and mixed them together , loaded them up and did not...

    Bullet Seating Depth

The only time I bother getting real picky about batching bullets is for 1000 yards Palma Matches . Elevation Elevation Elevation ! The best wind reader on the planet will suffer if the vertical dispersion of his ammo is BIG ! Now as you are aware there are various gadget gimmicks and...

308 win, 210 berger vld, 30 inch tube, 12 twist?

The guys shooting British Match Rifle mostly use 1:10 twists for the 190-210 projectiles but they are shooting at 1000/1100/1200 yds. But as always there are always exceptions , guy I knew since passed , won a lot of F Class matches shooting .308 155's from a 1:10. Mike.

    Bullet Seating Depth

Measuring/ batching base to ogive will get you half way there , now if you want to get real picky , you need to consider where the seater stem contacts the projectile as the bullet is seated, for not all ogive to bullet tips are the same. Therefore if the seater stem contacts the bullet .002"...

    VV Double Base Powders 540/550/560

Foggy , good to know but have you tried blending your lots ? I usually buy 8 kilos of Varget at a time , when the old lot is about half gone , I blend in a bucket a canister of the new with the old , never have a velocity issue , I don't know why it works but it do ! My 'smith , a noted F...

    VV Double Base Powders 540/550/560

Researching VV DB Powders , I quite often see the comment " temp sensitive " but have yet to read an extrapolation of that statement and therefore would be extremely grateful to anybody who could expand on the statement " temp sensitive." And would anybody have a starting load for .260 Rem with...
