    Help score this whitetail 10pt?

If that deer does in fact weigh 200 pounds that gives reference to his rack size. Looking at the pics I thought it was a small texas deer which makes racks look big. But big bodied deer make racks look smaller. Im guessing 165 to 175 based on his body being big.

    I got my deer!!!!!

257 wby. All time favorite whitetail cartridge. Might have to give some hammers a try in mine. I normally shoot 110 Bibbs in mine. But have piled up the meat over the yrs with various 100 gr @ 3600 fps. I’ve killed deer with 243 to 300 rum and most in between and nothing drops them drt like...

    Semi or O/U

Older Remington LT20 1100. Great field gun. I know people will say they break down too much but I have literally put 10s of thousands of rounds through mine. I changed the O ring a few times and thats it. I shot competitive skeet with it for years. Love my Browning Superposed for bird...

Is there any saving a barrel with an off axis chamber?

Setting the barrel up in the lathe so the bore is running true is simple. Even if it already has a chamber. The Gordy rods are long and go in way past the chamber. Very easy to use to dial everything up. But then you need to bore the old chamber out with a boring bar. So yes you would need...

Is there any saving a barrel with an off axis chamber?

You can absolutely make a bigger chamber. You would need Gordy rods to get the bore lined up straight and then use a boring bar and turn the old chamber away. If you dont the next reamer will follow the old chamber. The big issue is that when you chamber a barrel the receiver threads are cut...

    Minimum Headspace

They stretch right at the belt body junction. Which is exactly where they separate after reloading them multiple times. They always separate at the exact same place. If they stretched somewhere else this wouldn’t be. And it doesn’t matter if you headspace at .220 if the belts are inconsistent...

    Minimum Headspace

That was always the problem with belted mags. Best you can do is shoot them one time to fireform and then set your dies to just bump from then on. Sometimes that initial stretch is pretty big. Only way to make that initial stretch not start a separation is to load light and seat jammed. Then...

New build 264 Win Mag vs 6.5/257 Weatherby

With the new high bc 257 bullets available just the 257wby is a real viable long range option now. I have 3 of them but none with the fast twist. That is about to change. Cant have too many right.

New build 264 Win Mag vs 6.5/257 Weatherby

Rl26 can put down some impressive velocities in the right cartridges. Slightly overbore with heavy bullets RL26 shines.

New build 264 Win Mag vs 6.5/257 Weatherby

My 6.5 Saum shoots 3150 with 147 eldms. Its all I need. My 6.5x257wby is only a little over 100 fps faster. Both have 26 inch barrels. I probably wont build any more 264 win mahs or 6.5x257. Not worth the extra powder burn and barrel life. I will stick with the Saum for my hunting. Might...

    Gun for my wife

All my guns belong to my wife. If I want a new one I just build it and tell her it is hers. I think she knows its a scam but she lets me get away with it. Any of the regular 6.5s will get her way out there without the stout recoil of a magnum. Creed, .260 or x55 all are pretty much same...

338 Rum to the Max !

To the +p throats wearing out faster. I shoot bore rider throats in all my 1000 yard bench guns and haven’t seen any reduction in barrel life/ erosion. I use them in 6mm and 6.5 and 7mm. Now i dont run absolute max loads because I want my brass to live another day. I have a 338 rum but it...

    800 yard rifle

Keep the 300winmag. Its a great cartridge even by today’s standard. Put some money into a long range shooting school. It will be fun and you will learn a ton. You will find out if the wind is not blowing 700 yard moa plates are easy. Even further if you have your load dialed in. In windy...
