204 ruger, 30/06, 45/70.

I own a tc contender super 16 barrel chambered in a 22 hornet. It's the prefect dispatch firearm for my trap line. Being a short bbl, it doesn't have the down range performance but, it's deadly accurate with sierra 40 gr's and win 296 powder.

What's the twist in your 204 ruger? If its a standard 1:12, try using Berger 35 gr. a few that have used these bullets recommend them. If you have a faster twist say 1:10 or faster, you can use the heavier 40 gr's or more for down range performance.

if it was human error, id say you have something there.

I have a tc contender 375 jdj 23". I made up single round per powder charge 45.0 up to 49.5 ( not exactly sure don't have logs with me but) with 1/2 gr increments. this was for pressure testing my powder weight's, bullet, primer combo. I also noted where each shot landed. I think it was powder...

I have a rem 721 in 30/06 cal but I would like to change out the stock. will this drop into any standard action length rem 700 stocks?

i may be the black sheep of the big bores but i own a 375 jdj 23" in the thompson center contender. great accuracy with the sierra 250 gr slug. one shot entry-exit wound on a moose around 50 yds. it went 20 ft then dropped. :cool:

i own a 22 hornet in a Thompson Center super 16. it's been my trap line gun for many years. my brother takes it out when he checks his line to when i'm not using it. deadly accuracy with my reloads.

270 will work, bullet placement is key with everything you shoot at. my tc contender 23" 30/30 dropped one last winter hunt first round in the rib cage. second base skull and neck bone. the 270 has a little more power than the 30/30.

i clean mine out after a shooting session every time. i have a scope on top and i usually pop a few rounds before the hunt to make sure still zeroed from the transport.

used hopps copper solvent for years but i switched to gunslick pro bore foam. stuff works for me. if bore heavy with copper, i let it set over night. sprays like shaving cream then turns into liquid.

thanks for the input, this company is the only one i found that has solid bullets in the .204 dia. if there are other company's that produce and distribute solid's in .204's i'd like to know,thanks again.

I came across this web where this company distributes bullets in the USA. there solid copper custom rounds and has anyone ever use these bullets before? I'm interested in the .204 dia 29 gr pills they advertise.
