May just be factory proof firing? I have quite a few rifles with fouling straight out of the box. I have the same rifle as you, 7RM PSS, and it IS the most accurate rifle I have. Don't dismiss it yet.

Ummm... I consistently run 3200 FPS with a 140 AB and 4831SC out of my 7RM. I wouldn't discount your velocity. I haven't tried 800 yds, so I can't confirm your drop.

Edge has it right. Watch the stock and the scope & rings. They make a great barrel & action IMO, but they have to cut the cost of manufacture somewhere, and those are it....

Have multiple of each (more Leupolds, MK4's, V3's), but the Conquests are defintely clearer and sharper IMO.

I'm having a "semi custom" built off a Sendero. Any loads that Sierra missed? Or should I stick with the 220 SMK?

Thanks for the ideas! However, I think I did overlook the obvious... I am mixing fired brass from two different rifles, and although I am full length resizing, could not the Savage "blow out" the case in the shoulder or head dimension that the die cannot resize, but is out of spec with the PSS?
