Just got my 375 h and h back from the smith where it was Ackley improved.
Looking for some pet loads that others may have tried and been successful with the tried and trued 375. I'll be using it in open country/longer shots on elk and maybe a big muley. Love to hear what others have used.

Thanks!

Randy

I think you're really going to like the extra that comes with the AI. Never loaded for it myself, but knew folks that did. The 300 Sierra should work well, but others also.

PS: Dig to the bottom of the box if you haven't.

Carl, will do. I loaded one up last night for grins and fireformed a case. I got to tell you, I loved the feel of the rifle. You can feel the power of that round. Rifle is built on a sako action, douglas barrel, HS precision stock with recoil reducer. Comes in a 9.47 pounds without scope and recoil is very pleasant. I'm really looking forward .to developing a relationship with it.

I shoot 260 grain accubonds under a stiff load of rl15 in a bone stock pre 64. Can't say much about the ai version but I know the accubonds have been hammers on elk for me.

in my standard 375h&h I use 70gr 4320 and a 300tsx in rem brass. You should be able to step that up a few grains in the ai. I am getting 2550 fps and sub moa @ 100 with it. A 260 ab with a bit more 4320 (72gr) also shoots well. I've worked a bit with the 270 speer and 70gr 4320 also; than load was clover-leafing at 100 in my rifle.

I have a 375 Weatherby, 24" barrel. My capacity is slightly less than yours.
I run 89gr of Win 760 behind a Nosler 260gr Accubond for over 2900fps, 92gr of H4350 behind Woodleigh 270gr PPSN for 2860fps and 90gr of 760 behind Woodleigh 300gr PPSN for 2780fps.
All loads developed in reformed Remington 375H+H cases and WLRM primers.
I started with max loads from 375H+H data until I had pressure tested loads to compare with, I was off by only around 2gr's in most instances.
I found powders like Varget and Re15 were not suitable with this case capacity, unlike in the parent case, the next slower powders as those listed work the best.

Cheers.
