Here is the basics of what I did. The work isn't very clean because I tried many other things before resorting to this. From now on, this is what I will do first if I ever see the problem again!

Remove the decapping rod. The retainer for your pin may stay inside the case.

Back your die out of your press and take it to a vice. Run a tap down through your primer pocket until it breaks freely into the case body. It doesn't matter what size or thread of tap. It will stay there for the rest of the procedure.

Take a gear puller and a hard metal rod. Stamp a divot into the metal rod in the center of its end. This rod needs to stick out about an inch from the top of the die.

Take gear puller and attach it to the die. Run the puller down to center on the rod and press it out!

Insert tap into case bottom picture.

I forgot to mention that I drilled a hole in the case bottom and removed the retainer (after I had already broke it) and used a 3/8 x 24 tap to give me something to push against. With smaller cases, you might not be able to remove the primer punch retainer nut and then can push against the bottom of the case.

I drilled and tapped the .30 cal case head to 1/4x20. Then I drilled a shallow hole about the size of the die in a scrap block of wood, and another hole large enough to accept the diameter of the case but too small for the die to go through (centered on the shallow hole) all the way through the block. Put the die/stuck case on one side, put a washer under the 1/4x20 bolt and turned it. Piece-o-cake.
Smaller caliber = smaller bolt.

I tried something like this first. It did not work and stripped out the 1/4x 20 hole. It was a mess.
