Does anyone have any experience or advice on the bat tactical action from wolf precision? Just wondering if they are worth the 1600$ price tag or if I would be better suited going somewhere else. Love the color, bolt knob, tolerances, fluting, integral lug and rail...but dont know if it is worth the price. Any advice/help would be appreciated. Thank you

no i don't own one yet, I'm a poor public servant, but I'm saving my OT $$ to get one eventually,

I have shot them, Jamie built my savage long range rifle.

They are smooth as glass and all set to spec straight from BAT ready to go

I built a 308 on one for a customer. It was a really nice piece. Have no complaints. The gun shot very good. Would use one again if I had a customer that didn't mind the added cost. Dan

Im looking to drop it in a aics 2.0 but ive heard with the "standard" bat action they require some modifications in order to fit properly. I love the melonite coating and the large bolt knob, but i just dont know if the wait and price are worth it (atleast over the standarrd BAT or defiance.

the standard action yes maybe but the tactical action NO check Jaimie's site he puts them in AICS stocks too he is an AICS stocking dealer gun)

here the pic is on the title page right there

I guess Im going to get jamie to add me to the waiting list. Do u have any concerns about the action hank?

NONE it is the best on the market

So tell me what your plans are for this rifle, are you going to have Jamie or someone else build it ? caliber, etc....

tell him Hank sent you

Well my plans are as follows

BTA action
Hart/krieger/brux barrel at 30"
Aics 2.0 chassis
Jewel trigger if the chassis will allow
Probably a muscle brake from centershot
On top of an atlas bipod

More than likely it will be a 300 norma imp. (35-40 degree shoulder)
Always enjoyed the aics because of the "built in" bottom metal and the panels can be painted or dipped in camo without doing any painting on the chassis. Viper skins also look intriguing and more comfy. No bedding is nice too. I don't really know what kind of scope I'm throwing on it. Who knows it may all change.

I just took delivery of mine and cannot finish the build until my McM A5 is finished in 4 months or so.
It is absolutely beautiful and beefy (for a shortie) but is not to be confused with the silky bat feel of the benchrest action.

Wish I could tell you more.

Well i appreciate the input! Good to see another virginia man. Im on the western border as it looks like your more in the richmond area. Still good to hear from a long ranging Virginian!

Tazwell is as good as it gets for Va hogs. You need to make calls back there to get me some real estate for hogging. I actually retired to Hatteras now, but will be shooting the 2 miles with the ursla in 10 days in Bristol area.

My build is a .260 Remington, my first tactical build. I expect .10 3 shot groups with it.

I'm from Tazewell, VA but I now live behind enemy lines in MD. :D

what caliber viking ?
