New TAC Elite customer's review - 2 1/4" at 100 yards

This PSE TAC Elite crossbow review just came in from our customer Wiley in Louisiana.

In the words of our own duck commander, i'm happy happy happy. I absoulutely love my new PSE TAC Elite crossbow. I've been shopping for several years and its all i thought it would be. The trigger could use an upgrade. its a typical ar trigger. the whisker biscuit is good but no drop away. just got back from shooting the first time at 100 yds. group 2 1/4"and 1/2" from center of aimpoint. And that was not on a bench but off a caldwell field pod out of a groudblind i was checking out. my major, upgrade,so far, is the hawke xb 30. but i put on a 1/2" riser also and moved it further forward and put super high rings to get the whisker biscuit out of the scope picture. have not shot broadheads yet. but it looks like i have the ultimate rig. now in todays shooting session i shot out of the boxblind, groundblind, offhand to 50yds, off the bipod and every thing was great except i spent 1/2 my time hunting the crank. I either need to get a bucket full of cranks or maybe some kind of holster. im way to absent minded to multitask and keep up with the crank. but then i was real excited with my shooting results.

Wiley also said this about the Hawke XB 30 Crossbow Scope that we sell.

I can't imagine a better way to shoot a xbow 20-100 yds, than with this scope on a TAC xbow. I put mine on a 1/2" riser and moved it even further forward, and in super high rings to get the whisker biscuit out of the sight picture. With whatever weight tip i shot, i could adjust according to its velocity. I"ve shot 100, 125, 150, 175, 200, and 315 grain tips. Thats 390 fps with 100 grain to 330 fps with the 315 grain tip. just select your velocity on the power ring. zero at 20 yds. and put the proper holdover point on your target from 20 to 100 yards. and your on target. The hold over points are extremely well thought out. Like the first 20-60 yd + are for just grab it and shoot, and gives a midway point to count to the proper hold over point. The 70-100 yard ^ are for, hey i've got to really steady in and check the level and carefully shoot. And you will have outstanding accuracy. This is an amazing system!!! I gotta say it. I'm happy, happy, happy. haha

That is the advantage of XB 30. However, I have found XB 30 needs higher magnification for longer distances than XB 30 can provide when it is adjusted for TAC 15 arrow speeds around 400fps.

To tune TAC 15 and sort arrows into groups you really need a 8X scope when shooting at 100-yards. The XB 30 scope would need at least a doubling, if not tripling, of its over all magnification, being velocity adjustment changes the scopes power.

I believe with a 6x to 8x scope, a modified TAC 15, and using custom arrows; the combination can shoot better than 2 & 3 inch groups at 100 yards. The Hawke XB30 is great scope for hunting, but XB30 bottom reticle when set for 90-yards more than covers bulls-eye making precise aiming an estimation.
