I'm in the process of building a 6.5 creedmoor on a remington action, 26" barrel 1:8 twist and plan on using 130gr vld's, well I was lucky enough to find some today at the local shop that is and grabbed two boxes.
Any one out there have a berger reloading manual that can tell me their powder selection and charge recommendations? Or have personal experiance with these? I have thought maybe H4350, Hybrid 100 or reloader 17. Any advice or input would be appriciated.

I have a savage 10 long range hunter in 6.5 CM and using 140 gr berger bullets with 45 grs of superformance I'm getting 1 1/2" at 300 yards with 2804 fps. Also worked up a load with H4895 and it shot just over an inch at 300 but dropped to 2593 fps. Hybrid was the fastest at 2816 fps but the group was 1 3/4". My first post so hope it turns out right

Thanks for the info Skyes! Nice rifle I almost bought the model 11 LRH before I decided to rebarrel my one of my remington. I'm leaning towards H4350, that's if I can find it locally, hybrid and superformance is readily available just about anywhere I go.

H4350 at 43.5 grains will yield about 2915 fps. Reloader 17 will push them so fast it will blow your mind. Try and stay away from 17, it's really dirty and takes forever to get your rifle clean. Stick with 4350 if you can. You won't burn your bbl out and it's given me great speed and accuracy. 6.5 mils to get to 1,000 vs 6.7 with a 140 hybrid

Thanks Aimsmall55!
I have seen on other forms that people are pushing H4350 to 43.5, 44 gr and getting good results but i have a delema just like most others, I just can't find it and need to think of alternatives. So I just might have to go to RL-17 until 4350 is available again. And this of course raises more questions in my head and that means trouble for me.. $$ to spent testing and cussing!! :D

Has anyone used IMR-4350 or RL-19 and if so what kind of results have you been getting? Both are close to the same burn rate as H-4350 or a little slower. Funny thing is in Hornadys book it shows IMR-4350 to have better velocities with a higher change so I'm cerious if anyone has tryed it, and yes bergers manual does not list it. Im Sure it would be a viable option for a substitute.

Ive been having good luck with the superformance. Still developing the load but its looking promising. Im down to about 1/2 moa but i know i can shrink it some more with tweaking. I dont shoot the 130 bergers. I shoot the 140 a-max. But superformance has been a good powder with the 120s and 140s. Im sure it will work well for the bergers. Ive heard that rl-17 is a great powder. Im going to give that a go when i get the chance.

I had great luck with Hunter and magnum primers. Shot well with H4350, but could not get the velocity I wanted. I shoot 130gr Berger. 45 grain of Hunter, start lower if you chose this one.

Had good results from RL-17 and seems to be stable with temp as well. IMR 4350 I would bet shoots well, but may be more temp sensitive than H4350, but more velocity too.

Thanks Skyfish25!
I picked up some IMR-4350 and RL-17 over the weekend brass and dies are ordered, stock is going to be here tomorrow the action and barrel will be back from the gunsmith next month. cant wait to get it put together. no rush though this winter weather will not let go this year. I would like to find some RL-19 also but thats hard to find too my 243win loves RL-19 and it would be nice to consolidate powders.

I'm trying R17 with 129gr Interbonds. The factory loads are 2950fps rated, and I got 2913 or so through the Chrony with Ruger 24in Hawkeye.

Nosler data has R17 data.

I would suggest a ball or short cut powder to stuff in the small case.

I noticed the factory Interbond loads had a cannelure, but the component bullets do not.

I did some checking and here is some data I have shooting 130gr Bergers.

43.8gr RL-17 CCI Large Rifle primer @ 2960fps(probably would shoot if Hunting only)
45.0gr Hunter Wincheter LR Magnum @ 2860fps(what I shoot) Best SD
42.0gr H4350 CCi LRP @ 2750

Finally got the rifle together and started some load developments over the holiday weekend.
Rl-17 gave me better than expected results settled with 43.8gr RL 17 fed 210M oal at 2.80 and getting just under 1/2" moa. Had no signs of preasure and didnt want to push it any further. Going to try seating at 2.810, 2.820 and see if it will tighten up. I also see that H4350 is on the shelves again so I might to pick up a pound to try.
Back to the comment about rl17 being dirty and hard to clean I found it to be just the opposite it was much easier to clean than hornady factory ammo which is 41.7 gr of h4350. I have herd excelant things about both powders along with negative.

IMR-4350 did OK but not what I was looking for plus its a courser powder and takes up alot of case volume.

In my 6.5 creedmore custom rifle I run 140 bergers with 44grs of rl-17 at 2980 fps out of a 28 inch bartlein. I use 22-250 Lapua brass and make 6.5 creedmore out of it.

I guess I can push it some more but if it performs I'll stick with it 43.8grs behind 130's. This was the results from an OCW test over the weekend. should be pushing close to or above 3000 I have not checked the velocity yet but I will be soon just to see where the load is at. I've herd of guys running it up to 45grs but I'm not sure if I'll ever try.

That's the first if herd of making it out of 22-250 brass most I've seen is 243win or 308win brass formed to 6.5 creed I've thought of trying it out with 308 lapua brass. Cabelas has it on sale from time to time for 64$ per 100 and that's when I stock up on 308 brass.
