New Caliber

Nobody has one yet or has fired any rounds through it. But that hasn't stopped the keyboard commandos from proclaiming it to be the bestest ever.

Over bore and not necessary, I love the idea f new 26 cal but nosler just wants another cartridge they can run the market on and charge 65 dollars a box for ammo.

One of my too many rifles is a 260 Rem Savage target rifle. It is fun to shoot because it never overheats and is very accurate. On occastion, it would be nice to take all those same bullets and jack up the velocity a tad. With some of the newer slow burning powders the 26 Nosler should be good at that. I already want one.

It has the same max COAL as the 30-06 but with the magmum bolt face and wider girth it holds more powder. The wildcatters should love it too. I find it interesting that Nosler's add shows it with the AB LR which will blow into little fragments if you hit anything short of 500 yards. Stick some Barnes TTSX bullets in this thing and it should be a laser.

what's next? A 50 caliber spotting round necked down to 6.5? The .264 bore will only handle so much powder, and anything else is wasted.
gary

Haha I'm waiting for something like that to be the next "best" thing. haha. Pretty soon guys will except 300 rounds as maximum barrel life.

I agree...Anyone else sick of hearing about how the .26 Nosler is gonna be the best thing since sliced bread? I know I am. It hasn't even come out yet...It could be a complete bust.

I also agree that it is entirely too overbore.

Also goes to show you how many people blindly follow trends...
