I would really like to see Hornady bring out an A-MAX for the .277 diameter in a couple of different bullet weights. These would be great in everything from the traditional .270 WIN to the new wildcat .270s. Every caliber from .224 to .338 has an A-MAX available besides the .270 daimeter, and I would like to see that change. Just want to see if anybody else would be interested in seeing A-MAXs for the .270cal, thanks.

I like them in my .223rem, I can only dream about them in my .270win. I'd love to see Hornady come to the plate with a new offering. Maybe the 6.8 black rifle popularity will build a fire under their rear-end.
+1 everyone loves these bullets! I can't wait to try the 208gr A-MAXs in my .308 Norma and look forward to try the 105 grainers in my .243 Winchester. If they would just bring out an A-MAX in the 140ish weight for the .270 I'd be pumped! A heavier A-MAX in the 155-168gr range would be sweet for those big .270cal magnums. The BCs are great on these bullets and I would estimate a .277cal 140gr A-MAX would be around .525 G1 BC and the 160ish A-MAX to be .650 or better. I currently use a 140 SST in my .270 WIN but would switch to that 140gr A-MAX in a heart beat! I would also consider building a wildcat .270 Magnum to shoot the heavy A-MAXs in.

I'd be interested, but Matrix Ballistics has some 165's and 175's that would be hard to compete with.
I understand what you're saying. I believe though if Hornady introduced these they'd take over. A-MAXs are already really affordable and have an amazing reputation. The A-MAXs are also manufactured on a larger scale and more widely available through stores and not just from the manufacturer like Matrix bullets are.

I am not trying to be smart, but please show us where to get Amax's right now? Hornady has slowed or stopped production of most of them for the time being. I just ordered and received 200 of the 175's from Matrix in less than 2 weeks, from Canada. The Amax should be cheaper though, for sure.
I don't mean to get of topic, I too think an Amax in the .277 caliber would be a great addition to the market. As more and more high BC bullets are developed for it, I think we will just see more and more 270's used.
I'm just saying my local sporting goods stores have A-MAXs in every caliber and almost every weight that's available for most given calibers.

I sent Hornady a product request for these bullets nearly two weeks ago and have yet to hear from them. I believe these would be a hit for the new .270 wildcats and old tried and true cartridge ls.
