FINALLY!! Burris has listened!

Not sure if everyone has seen these yet. Burris is trying to take a crack at the tactical area of optics with a possible winner! A lot of the features of the Vortex Razor at what appears to be a lower cost (according to google). I'm a huge Burris fan so these have me really excited.

I think the 3-15 will sell like crazy for them if they are priced right. I'll be interested to see how their zero stop works.

The Veracity series of scope look like a real winner for the hunting crowd too.

I just wish someone would make a scope with all the feature sets of this or a nightforce and about half the weight. That burris 3-15x50 weighs 30 oz., too heavy for me to hunt with. Other than that it looks great.

Glad to see the lineup getting a facelift. Those are neat, and heavy any idea on a timeline when these will actually be on the shelf?

Yea, I know, I'm just wishing out loud. Several companies are making great tough scopes with all the features I want and good glass, but nobody seems to be able do that and keep the weight at a reasonable level. The first company that can do that will own the marketplace. Nightforce could put every hunting scope maker out of business if they could shave 12 oz. off of every scope in their lineup.

Chasing Unicorns I know, but maybe one day it'll happen. I also like DD's with a 22" waist and 34" hips but I know that reality is that DD's are more likely to be paired with a 36" waist and 44" hips.

The weight isn't really a concern to me when it comes to what these scopes offer. I want really good glass and reliability along with FFP, zero stops, MIL/MIL reticle etc. I'm really liking the lighted reticle knob incorporated in the side focus knob. I never really cared for them on the eye piece.

I was looking at a viper PST anyway so the weight was already close to these. Also 90MOA of elevation is nice compared to the pst's 65. Really looks like a great attempt if the glass is on par with sightron and vortex.

I have a Burris Signature Select now and it's been a great scope. The only complaint I have about it is the turret clicks aren't real positive and the tiny allen screws that keep the caps on aren't great.

I know I'm going to hold off purchasing the PST until I can put these two side by side and compare them.

My next scope will be the new Weaver Kaspa. I've read really good reviews and it's even less expensive. Just for kicks and grins of course.

I wanna see if I can recoil the glass out.....

yeah 2 pound scopes with 34 mm tubes, yeah thats listening. I ripped 34 mm tubes in the last thread about the vortex razors. a couple guys struck back and said they needed it for shooting 2000 yards and beyond. so to them and everyone else why in the world does anyone need a 34mm tube scope in a 1.5-8 scope or a 2-10 or even a 3-15?!?! whats even funnier is the 3-15 model has 110moa of total adjustment the rest of the models even the higher power 4-20, 5-25 and 8-40 models have 90 MOA or less adjustment! what purpose does a 34 mm tube serve if you actually have less adjustment than a comparable 30mm tube from say nightforce. I am pretty disappointed actually in what they have come up with.

don't be so quick to jump on the band wagon until you have really thought about the use of these scopes in practice.

Looks like they missed another opportunity to be relevant in the long range optics market, I like the looks of it and it looks built but in FFP and with thick reticles they just are not anything I'd mount on a precision rifle! Swing and a Miss!!

When I starrted shooting with an optic (I was an Eagle Scount and I'm well over 60 now, optics were for the elite. Everyone had iron sights. I remember buying my first scope, it was a 3-9 Redfield (reincarnated now by Leupold as their value line) with a 1" tube in gloss black black because thats all there was.

It worked just fine for me, in fact I thought I was lking of the hill.I still have it and it still works just fine because I never get rid of anything, I'm a packrat.

Now we 'progress' from 1" tubes to 30mm tubes now 34mm tubes and as the technology advances (not that ther can be much 'new' technology in scopes, other than gimmiks), they get heavier instead of lighter.

I always thought advancing technology meant getting lighter, like new cars or rifles. I don't get it.

You know how hard it is to fimd a 1" tubed scope in gloss black today? Pretty hard. There are a few but not many. ,Leupold has 4 in a quality optic everything else is cheap optics like Tasco. Amazing.

I won't be buying any 34mm tubed scope anytime soon and I'm not going to live too much longer anyway. When the 30mm tubes appeared, ring choices were slim and none. You have the same scenario with a 34.

If the Burris' are 34mm and tanks, they can keep them. I know the Chinese can do better than that.....

The technology is there but not many can afford a scope made out of titanium or carbon fiber... Everyone bashes a manufacture when they can't drop an optic off a cliff and it not survive... People demand ruggedness and with that comes weight. The price point of these is at the top of my range. I just cannot drop 2-4K on a scope. These offer most of the options of the higher price point optics at a more affordable price. Now if the glass and construction are in line with the manufactures they are obviously competing with I think they will have something. Bottom line you can't please everyone and the market will dictate if they have a winner.
