I'm originally from Zachary, La., and moved to Wy. in 1985. I wanted to get to an area with more hunting and less people. I love most forms of competition, I've raced cars, motorcycles, even ran a few marathons. Hell, if someone wants a friendly game of "mumbly peg", I'm in! I started hunting with my Dad and uncles when I was around 5, first deer at 11, first centerfire at 14 (picked up a lot of pecans to buy that Win. Model 88 .308). I started handloading (Lee Loader) at around 15, first centerfire handgun at 16 (S&W Model 28). Started casting bullets at around 18 years old. As you can see, I'm "kinda" hooked on guns and hunting. I married a girl from Kemmerer, Wy. who enjoys hunting and the outdoors as much as I. We haven't hunted or shot as much in the last 12 years as we would like. We've been working too much on establishing our home, yard, garden, fruit trees, ect. But, hoping to get much more involved again before we "croak"!! memtb (Todd Behrnes)

Todd,

Welcome to the forum, Myself and D.Camerelli on here are probably the only 2 members on here that had any idea Winchester Wyoming even existed! He Lives over in worland and I am a little north up in Basin. lots of good info on here. What are you shooting?

Mike,

Thanks for the Welcome!!
With retirement only 4yrs away(far too long) and very slow progress on the place, we hope to get a little more involved in shooting again.

I'm shooting a .375AI ( Win. 70 action,Douglas SS barrel, McMillan stock, express sights, Leupold QD's, Leupold 3.5-10x40 CDC),weighing-in at about 8-14 scoped, loaded,& slung. My preferred(only) load is Barnes 270 TSX's @ 2900. When I do my part it'll go 3 rnds. @ around .5" Had it built in "89 in Roger Green's shop over in Glenrock. It is and always has been my primary rifle for everything, including the occassional coyote. The wife is shooting a box-stock Win. Mod.70 in .338 Win. Mag., Syn. SS, pushing 225 Barnes TTSX's @ 2960, same scope, putting 3 shots around an inch. Both of us would like to eventually get something for some LR Shooting, while also streching out our present hunting rifles to there full potential.

Love it! I'm a 375 guy too! My 375 rum is currently getting a new benchmark tube. I also shoot 270tsx out of it. And I shoot 225 ttsx in my 338 win..so I like your choices. We should get together sometime maybe shoot some steel or call some coyotes.

Partly right Mike. I remembered going through there once, but them plaque filled veins and arteries in my head needed a map to pinpoint it.

Mike,

Sounds real good,Maybe start out over a cup of coffee!! We have a 300 yrd. range here at the house, which is sufficient for hunting zero's, but not exactly long range. And, with the amount of shooting that we're doing, won't have to replace the target frames any time soon!!! Todd

Welcome to LRH memtb
Heck Mike I knew where Winchester was long before moving to Wyoming in 05......

I remember Winchester for being named for a firearm, I remember Medicine Bow because it's where I saw my first drive through liquor store, Lysite because of the sign "When lights flashing poison gas across road", and Lander because it celebrates my favorite game animal, and I love Wyoming for all of the above. Leave PC at home and have a hell of a good time.

HARPERC: I know the flashing signs of which you speak. I drive through Lysite every day on my way to the gas plant where I work. Folks from Washington aren't supposed to know that much about rural Wyoming:) memtb
