Hi my name is Curt

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on putting a muzzle brake on my Browning X bolt in 7mm Mag? I have looked around and even considered sending it out to have one put on it. However I'm not even sure if I need to actually send it out to have this done? Any suggestions? I have looked at various brakes and not sure what to get?

Why on earth do you want a muzzle brake on that? That gun does not kick at all. I shot a 10 point with that same rifle this year. Im throwing 1/2 moa groups and recoil is like zilch. it feels like im shooting a 243 or something

That gun absolutely kicks. The great recoil pad means you don't feel it on your shoulder like most older guns but if you shoot it enough you'll notice your neck gets real sore from taking a beating from such a light rifle. Let a beginner or younger shooter shoot that gun braked and non-braked and see which one they think recoils more.

I am putting a muzzle brake on it to stop the jump as well as kick. 1/2" groups at how far out??? I'm looking at up to 1,000 yard shots and am looking to make it as accurate as possible.

1/2 in @ 100. Didnt really try to develope a target load that was just the first load i put together for hunting. I got 1/2 so i didnt see any reason to develope it further. The one i shoot does not kick and does not jump at all.

yeah see mine jumps like hell and shooting all day the kick wears on you. I have mine sighted in at 200yds..and shoot regularly at 400yds. I have found the brake that I want and having it put on after Christmas.

at the moment shooting about 3/4" to 1" groups @ 200 and 300 yards...which I'm hoping will improve once i get rid of the **** jump. I use factory ammo since I don't reload. Hornady is what I use in it...approx 139 gr. Any info you have to make it better would be appreciated...i'm no expert by any means...lol.
