I have been working with Hogdon's Superformance in my 280 with 140 AB's. I ran out of time to work an accurate load up before deer season arrived. Getting 3000 fps with this powder is no problem. I just have to work on jump to get it shooting as tight as I would like. Clean burning easy to light and very good speed. Start at 54-55 grains and work up to a safe max in your rifle. This powder just might suprise you as it did to me when I first started working with it. Have loads now for 300 wsm 30-06 and almost 280.

I have the superformance. Have not tried it yet but getting ready to start working it up. I have the CDL remmy that I have accubonds for and and a CDL SF that I want to use the superformance in. I just mounted a Swaro 3-10x42 av on it. So it's ready to go just have to get those new brass loaded up and try it out. Also thinking of making a heavier 150 load to go along with it too. So many options hard to choose.

Did that at just over 200 yards and killed a small 8pt in KY the day after I got home from CO with the same stuff. Bullet goes a WHOPPING 2750 fps and the deer just collapsed.
That is a nice deer. The velocity on that load is probably perfect for the BT. It is a fairly frangible bullet and I would say that it performs better at your velocity than at real high velocities. Good job.
Glad to see so many people using the .280 Rem. Its been a favorite of mine for more years than I would like to think about.
My go to load for whitetails and feral hogs has been the 150 gr. NBT H4831sc Norma brass and CCIBR2 primers. The rifle shoots theses loads into the .5/.6 on regular basis.

I managed to get my hands on some of the 150 gr. Accubond LR about a month ago and plan on trying some out in the next few weeks to see how they hold up at .280 Rem. velocities.
Took this buck this past week using the above load and was only about a 160 yd. shot. Deer was turned full broadside and took out both lungs. Made it about 30 yds. before taking a nose dive. After looking at all the damage to the lungs and heart I cant believe he made it that far. Shot was a complete pass thru which is not the norm for me while using the ballistic tip.

Excellent results with your 280 Rem and the 150 NBT. I am shooting a 280 Rem out of a Remington CDL loaded with 140 Accubonds and 54.5 grains of RL-17 that produces a velocity of 2975+ ft/sec. It is interesting to look at the experiences of different people with differfent loads. I have been hunting deer in Nebraska for a number of years and my results are some what different from yours.
First I have seen 15 or more deer shot with Nosler Accubond and we have yet to recover a single Accubond. Just this year my hunting friends and I shot 7 deer with Accubonds and all were complete pass throughs. The Accubonds were shot out of 3 different calibers(130 grains-270 Win, 130 grain-260 Rem, and 140 grains- 280 Rem..
Second I have seen the Nosler BT blow up on more that one deer. The latest happened to my hunting friend in Nebraska while shooting his 270 Winchester using 130 grain Silver BT's(Same as the Nosler BT). After taking a couple of deer at 200 yards+ with very good results, he shot a doe at 20-40 yards and the bullet blew up on a rib before entering the deer. How do I know this? We did recover the deer after it traveled 300-400 yards. The bones from the rib took one lung out and the deer died. As a result of this I started loading him 130 Accubond and so far the results have been excellent.
My thoughts are this after using and seeing the BT used on deer. If you are shooting at 200 yards are more the BT work great. If you velocity is around 2700 ft/sec again the BT will work great. However, if you have a close shot and your velocity is 2900-3000 ft/sec. you may experience a blow up if you happen to hit a bone. This is based on the result that I have either experienced or have seen during my 30 plus years of deer hunting.

The one on top is my older CDL with a leupy.
The one on bottom is the newer stainless fluted one that had to come out after the standard CDL model, so of coarse I have to get that one two. Same thing happened when I bought my 300 ultra, the model that I actually had my heart set on came out after I bought the first one. The stainless fluted 280 is now currently wearing the Swarovski 3-10x42 that my first 300 ultra had on it. I figure that the 3-10 would wear better on the 280 than the 300 so now the 300 needs a new scope. I am going to try the 140 ttsx and maybe some 150 sciroccos for it too.

Well that's the whole reason I have two, is because I really like the stainless fluted one too and had to have it but not going to get rid of the standard CDL. As of now I have everything for the ttsx to go but need to get the scirocco 150's yet. That will be later though. Now just time to be able to sit and roll some. I am pretty happy with the CDL loads shooting the NAB 140's I front of H-4831sc and 210 primers. I had several loads under moa with that combination.
