Nice rifle.
Bet your itching to get out and test some loads.
Are you sure your stocks not a McMillan A3?
I like the colours on the gap camp,do you know what they are?

Three color GAP camo in OD green, coyote brown and dark earth i think. And its a Manners T2 stock, or its supposed to be lol, isnt it the mcmillian a5 that looks about the same? I forget.

And yep im itching to test out some loads, got some imr-4064 loaded under 175g smk's .010, 015, 020, 025 off the lands to see what it likes. Shooting Tomorrow! Cant wait!!!

If that's a Manners T2, the camo is working really well. It looks like an A3 to me too.

Nice looking rifle ya got there! Your not too far from me at all. I am in a little place called Center if you know where that is at. I have a great aunt that lives in Newark. I even lived there for 9 months while I went to ASUN. Lived by the corner of 3rd ST and Long ST. I have a 960 yard range here on my place if you don't have a place to stretch it out that far or if you just want to shoot somewhere different.

Guess the stock is a mcmillan, sure looks like it when I compare, oh well doesnt matter, other than me looking like an idiot. I had never held either one of them before this rifle. <^^>.

Gun groups good, i measured 2 sub 1/2 inch groups with my starter loads today, .396 and .392 center to center.

I may take you up on that offer!

No shame in Mcmillam,as long as you weren't sold it as a Manners.
I've just bought an A3 and bedding this eve. First impressions are very good, handles beautifully and more streamlined than A5.

Nice paint job. Love to see more pic's in good light.
I have just ordered some Duracoat paint to do my stock. Taken a long time to decide on colour as their charts are hopeless. I will try to post thread on how I do.
Nice work on your first loads.
Do you test COAL before powder charges?
I know some do, I've always tested powder first then seating depth.
I've not been reload that long so always interested to hear how others do it.

Yep I want to know seating depth before powder charge, so if I end up going all the way to a oal jammed into the lands, i dont have to then lower my powder charge if i am running at near max.

4-shot groups at 100, sorry was as far as i could get this weekend

42.5g imr-4064

.015 jump

Lapua Brass

175 SMK

WLR primer

Not trimmed, not weight sorted, i was in a hurry so i just FL resized and loaded em up.

2nd Group is .020 off lands and 42.5g imr-4064

Measurements were as good as i could get them might be off a tad but meh close i think. Paper tears funny when its just hanging on a frame.

I had another group that looked and measured just about like the .020 jump group except it was .010 off the lands, it looked prettier so I decided i am going to work with .010 jump and see what i can come up with. If it isnt consistent enough ill just go to the .020 dont know why .015 and .025 jump didnt work out very good seems odd to me that the gun would like .010 and .020 jump with SMK but nothing in between.

This first group was .010 off lands with 43g IMR-4064

All are 4-shot groups.

The Second one looks promising provided the flyer was my fault, which is entirely possible, the wind was blowing 20mph today when i was shooting. Hard for me to stay still. Freak weather in Arkansas today, it musta been 70 degrees yowza im ready for snow!

The small cluster was the first three shots of the group into .265 center to center, add in the crappy flyer and the group opens up to .569 bah! Im going to play with that one some more and see if i am on to something

The load on the second group was

.010 off lands

44g Imr-4064

The Third group the completely terrible one interestingly enough was what happened when i got to 45g of imr-4064. It was compressed, and crunched a bit when i loaded it. I had a pretty good ejector smear on the case head for this load, worse than what you see on some weatherby factory brass. And some primer cratering. Still nice and easy bolt lift though. The group went to crap as soon as noticeable pressure signs showed up.

I shot groups at 42g, 42.5g, 43g, 43.5g, 44g, 44.5, 45g Imr-4064 and .010 jump. All the groups interestingly enough except for the 42g loading and the 44.5, and the 45g loading were really similar and relatively close measurement wise. 42g, 44.5, and 45g were noticeably worse than the rest.
