I have decided it's time to upgrade my scope on my 300 Win mag. I currently have a vortex viper PST 4-16x50 mounted on top. I am looking for something with repeatable turrets, quality glass, FFP if it has to be a mil / moa system. I'm not sure about mil or MOA reticles. I'm considering just a plane crosshair or plex as I like to dial my scopes. My ranges currently are 100-500 yards and hoping to reach 1000+ next summer (which will then allow me to upgrade rifles:)) Give me some of your thoughts. My budget will be $2K. :D

you are familiar with vortex already, go for a razor. good reviews, seen a lot come through my shoots

Yes I'm not to excited over SFP with mil / moa. I did look at a razor today, looked real nice but just unsure. I'm hoping to find a Sightron SIII at a local store within the next few months to see in person as I've searched and read a lot of good about them. I could then use the money saved an get a G7 range finder as well. ( Oh how my hobbies have gotten spendy the last few months:rolleyes:)

You wont find a FFP optic with a mil/moa setup. its one or the other, US optics might build you one but they are going to be thinking in the back of their minds "whats wrong with this guy":D just saying.

I have the new Bushnell and I could not be more please!

I see your point and I may have not typed this properly. When referring to the mil/moa I was meaning each one individually . clearly not both combined:D. (My bad for not clearing that part up). I have some time to search, also just found three dealers within a few hrs of me that carry sightron scopes. so this winter I may be taking a trip to check them out in person.

I see no reason why your current scope wont get you to 1000 yards. As far as scopes with ballistic reticles I use the dial for elevation also but I like the windage marks to hold. I dont dial wind so a plain cross hair may not work if you operate the same way. To answer your question as asked though if I was going to upgrade over a pst it would be a nightforce 5-22 nsx npr1 sfp.
