Montana youth hunt Succes

Montana youth hunt succes,,,

spent about a week scouting NE Montana from culbertson to 4 buttes,,, send a dozen or so small bucks, about 75 does in all that country,,,
spent some time south of culbertson sneaking around, sun at back and using the spotting scope, found this guy with a few others, one a lot larger,,

about a 1.5 mile sneak, wind in face, sun at back, final 100 yard belly crawl,

329 yards away, only 2 bucks around, large coulee where the big buck probably went,
anyway a bird in the hand type of deal,,

329 yards, 7x57 mauser shooting a 150 ballistic tip at 2850 muzzle velocity,,

1 shot slightly quatering, 75 yard recovery, no exit, no blood trail, lungs and liver a mess

cut him in half, half on my back old school style, my boy dragging the front half, with me leap froging helping,

spotted the bucks at 7 am, shot at 8 am back to truck 10:30 am

tired excited boy thats for sure,
next week cow elk in 631 632 on a youth hunt for him, hope it goes as well

i laid down in the brush , he used my back for a rest, he told me how to breathe in sync with him,,,
