Lazzeroni World Record 1,000 Yards

attached is a piece from the September 2013 issue of Precision Rifleman Magazine ,,,,,,

the shooter was using a custom bench rest rifle in Lazzeroni caliber 7.82 (.308) Patriot short-magnum ,,,,,

when I designed the Lazz Patriot short-mag, I literally took the Warbird case and sawed .750" out of the middle of it, leaving all other chamber, base, shoulder, neck and throat dimensions the same ,,,,,,

The Lazz Patriot really began the short magnum "craze" of the late 90s thru about 2006 ,,,,,

However, none of the other offerings from Winchester, Remington etc, ever caught up to the performance levels offered by the Patriot and other Lazzeroni short magnums ,,,,,

My 3 target LG agg at the 2011 Nationals was smaller than that...and it wasn't a record.

seems to me that I heard something about there being 2 different bench rest shooting organizations and they don't always cross recognize their records ,,,,

or is it something else ? ,,,,,

maybe someone with more knowledge than I have can jump in here ? ,,,,,,,

Probably to reduce the effect of wind at that range? I imagine guys shooting groups like that at 1K will take every advantage they can get.

The shooters in the Sahuaro 1000yd BR club at the Tucson Rifle Club shoot NBRSA sanctioned matches, I know the IBS and other groups do have there own worlds records.
I was there when he shot those records, he is an amazing shooter and all with a barrel that has well over 2000rds thru it!

regardless of titles, records, etc. that is **** fine shooting. of note to me are 3 important factors: Krieger barrel, H4831, and JLK bullets. I happen to have 300 140gr VLD JLK bullets for my 6.5x284 and an equal number of 168s for my 7RM.

Maybe it's time to play with those too.

2000 rounds..! Holeh. Brother & I recently threaded on a couple Krieger 5R's.. also with Lazzeroni chambers. 2000 is unreal, I hope I can get that outta mine!!

you should be able to achieve 2000+ rounds out of any of the Lazzeroni short-mag chamberings, it is the Lazz Long mags that can be tough on a barrel ,,,
