g7 vs geovid HD b RF ballistic calculator

I was wondering what the differences between the ballistic functions in the geovid HD b and the g7 RF are. I know the geovid is only supposed to have correction to 1000 yards and the g7 further but what else is different about them?? on the surface it would make more sense to buy the geovids than have $1500 tied up in a dedicated RF unit, especially if the binoculars your already using are from the big 3 german makes.
 
The G7 will give you your needed dial up in MOA after ranging target and using environmental readings (altitude,barometric pressure,temp,humidity) and also have already calculated for any angle up or down for the shot. MOA reading is based on your load data and specific bullet BC that you have downloaded into the G7 BR2.
The Geovid does not account for any environmental factors that I am aware of.
I used the BR2 this season in Wy to take a mule deer at 841 yards, and the reading was spot on for my 7 Rogue and 180 Berger.
At some point, someone will be smart enough ( from a business stand point) to put the BR2 technology in a great pair of binos.
It is a PIA to have to carry LRF and a good pair of binos both.

***The G7 BR2 has wind adjustment and the Geovid HD-B does not***

Just put a table on your wind meter and you will be good to go for most shots.
 
After just a quick glance at the Leica seems you have to choose between a bunch of preprogrammed bullet trajectories, instead of the actual dope given from BR2 for your actual load data.
Correct me if I am wrong on this, and how accurate is the Leica at longrangehunting based on having to try and match up to one of there trajectories?

trueblue, there is a microSD slot in order to input actual ballistics of a given rifle/load in the leica hd-b binoculars. A hunter can also choose from the standard ballistic curves, but they can also import their own ballistics. Perhaps you should do a bit more research?

Perhaps I should.
But did not bother once I saw the price tag of $3000.
I will stick with my BR2 at half the price. Maybe in a few years prices will come down a bit.

I completely understand about the pricetag. I seriously considered purchasing the BR2 before I bought the HD-b's. However, with the price of binoculars these days it's very easy to spend $1500. So I was already going to have $3000 or more in the BR2 plus good binoculars. For me it was going to be easier to have it all in one convenient package. Now I haven't put the leicas to the test yet as I won't be able to start hunting for about another month, but so far I really like them.
 
Here is a pretty good explanation ot the capabilities. I had the opportunity to look through them , comparing the clarity to my older Geovids. The optical quality was noticablybetter than mine.

Good link, but how does it compensate for height of scope above bore?

My undstsnding from the shooter that had one is that the custom ballistic card program on the Lieca site allows for entries similiar to Shooter. I have not seen it though. You are able to put one load/rifle per card, and the calculation range limit is 1000 yards.

My question about the Lieca is the ability to toggle the RF to distinguish near/far interferences. This is a limititation with my older Geovids. I don't know if the new unit as this feature. My G7 Br2 RF is much more capable of determining accurate ranges under difficult conditions then my Goevids. I also think the 1000 yard calculator limit of the Leica RF is limiting for my needs.IMO.
