factory barrel swap

I'm shooting a striker in 270 wsm with the factory brake. If I swap out a 16 inch barrel in place of the factory 12 inch(+2" brake), will my gain in muzzle velocity be much better? Ernie had told me to subtract 375 when working in the g7 program for the 12 inch barrel. I'm trying to get my ballistics for the 16 inch.

You would probably gain 25-30 FPS per inch of barrel length added, roughly. Could be a bit more.

thanks for the reply. I was just surfing the net and came across a couple articles about it. I was figuring around 80 to 100. Although negligible, it does answer my question. Thanks again for the response.

Sully2, I shoot a 30-338 Win Mag in a T/C Encore Hangun.

Also working on putting together a 7 SAUM, or maybe 7-270WSM, in an XP-100 handgun.

BTW, if you would like a 300 WSM large shank rifle barrel to cut down and have another cailber to shoot, I have one available. Just saying.
